tried 120Hz vs 160 on my crt, didn't see some difference in quake ; only tried 3min but I doubt for its pace it make much difference (unless playing crazy defrag stuff, maybe)
in fact i know very well... Even with 100hz you can feel the difference with 200fps vs 500fps.... but when you have more hz than frames it doesnt even give smoother gameplay... only blurrier picture which then shows as "more smoother"...
You have no idea what you're talking about. If the monitor refresh is not locked in sync with the game's framerate (and you don't want to do that as it adds lag) then you want the highest screen refresh possible to minimise lag time before new game frames are displayed to you.
I'm playing on a 17 crt right know but going to buy a 120 hz tft. Once I was a tft hater, but the products developed and I don't see any reason to still have a crt, despite you are a pro and have serious ambitions to win a tournament.
Well, 190€ would be worth concerning the overall benefits you get with a decent 22" tft compared to a 19"crt. I'm gonna by a 120hz one and I think I won't regret it, because I neither have intentions to be a pro nor don't I care about losing 1% lg. In the end it won't destroy my aim at all, because the monitor is good. I mean even strenx plays with 75hz and still he has the best aim ;).
I'm not into photoshop so I don't care about the "bad" colours. I'm not sure whether it affects moviemaking but 16:10 is still better than 4:3.
Last but not least the extra space you gain over 19". I'm bored with switching between every application and watching movies on my 17"crt. Right now I can't afford a decent 30"+ led and trust me watching a movie on a 17"crt is a pain in the ass :P. I still could play Quake Live or 1.6 on my crt but 1024*786 with 120hz sounds good :=)
190€ is all subjective anyway
no radiations and a few width inches more is good (and the stupid "volume gain" too)
too much for me atm, doesn't hit my threshold yet
nice.. ive only found a 451 and a 510 in my area, but i cant get full specs info anywhere on the net. so i dont even know what resolutions and refresh rates are possible.. pretty anoying to look for this info
My Vision Master Pro 454 gets black @ 800 x 600 / 200 HZ (max. here 199 HZ :P) However if you use 640 x 480 u can set it 240 HZ+ I heard but I will never try it. The noise is getting rly scary @ 200+ HZ :-O
