in this fight I only see one winner and it's not silva..
other guy did perfect job, so smart ground punshes, never saw it before. He gaved all his strengh. I respect that guy as we all saw, that his prefight talks wasn't bullshit. HE OWNED Silva!

Long answer:

Well, this is quite comparable to Brock Lesnars last fight. In a championship bout, the challenger has to give his everything to put out the champions lights.
Sonnen did that. I mean, I haven't seen any of his fights, but it seemed like that this WAS his best and he brought a hell of a fight to Silva. Just like what Carwin did to Lesnar.
Problem is, Silva and Lesnar did not go down. I mean, most of the other guys would've been out after 2mins in the first round. Shit was crazy.
BUT it seemed to me like Silva never lost his focus. He knew exactly what to expect. Crazy guy raging all over him. It's what he got and what he endured for 5 rounds and when he got the chance, he did what he had to do to put Sonnen out.
That's championship material right there.

Nah, Carwin did 1st round good, but he got tired and fucked... its a bit different story.
Sonnen fighted all 5 rounds in his lead and fucked in the end, then his victory was 1 cm away.. realy sad about this game.

Well, I think Silva sent out a pretty scary message with this. Everybody wanted to see what happens, when someone brings the fight to him. 5 rounds on his back, catching fists and elbows all over the place, not losing his focus for a second and the one bleeding like hell was Sonnen.

Look at his fight with Dan Fucking Henderson which is much better MMA wrestler than Sonnen, plus has good stand up and a granite chin.

Silvia did what he wonted to do with him, and couldn't do anything of that with Sonnen.

Hey Guard. I don´t know if u like Anderson Silva, but u can´t debunk him.

Silva is the best fighter actually and your skills re awesome! He joked with his last opponents cuz they were no match for him. He was a way to express yourself about this. He was not like Mike Tyson(in which I am a big fan!), he just plays with his opponents.

I like Silva cuz he fights like Bruce Lee! But Sonnen do a great job. Moreover, they've got invincibility Paulo Filho. So I was expecting a tough fight. But you say that morally Sonnen won the fight, then you must be joking. To me, Sonnen was uterlly defeated!!

One of top3 world best fighters of MMA for me is ASilva , he is superb. But as you can see, he can be owned like kid. He got like 300 punches (not hard, but some decent) to head. He lost 4 rounds and would lost 5th , but he catched enemy... I respect silva, he is champion, thats why you must be ready till last second of fight.
I wanted silva to lose, becose he thinks to good about him self. What if Sonnen escaped that triangle? few minutes and GG for Silva..
Anyway he is champion, but before that fight he looked untouchable, at the moment HE IS NOT.

I agree on almost everything you said, Guard. But do not think badly of Anderson Silva. I do not advocate because he is Brazilian like me, but because he is a good fighter (Just to clarify).

I think Silva has a GREAT confidence in his skills, but I do not think he would find the "Tenkamusou" (invincible). Anyone can be defeated in some way, this is a matter of strategy. Fedor even erred in negligence and was defeated (I was sad about that).

Silva needed good fighters to fight with him, simply. But one thing is certain: a real fighter must win even under hard pression. Silva almost lost, but he was smart and determined. It´s stuff of a great fighter.

I can't take Silva seriously when he fights in >185 pound weight classes. With his long limbs he should be fighting in the light heavy weight class at least. He fights in the middle classes so he can have a big advantage, which is pretty cowardly.

Griffin is pretty overrated if you ask me. I want to see Silva fight Rau, Machida, Jackson, Evans etc. Any of those guys would be a fair fight. It's just a shame to see Silva take the easy road.

And he started as 170, he naturally weights at about 209 so 205 is not his devision.

He said lately that he will stay on 185 to end of his career.

It's possible Silva got lucky or if he wasn't even on his game at all. What it looked like to me was that in the first round when they stood up for a while Silva couldn't dodge that one straight left from Sonnen which rocked him pretty badly and that lead to him not showing his usual amazing reactions in the latter rounds.
At the start of every round after the first you pretty much saw Silva going for the big hits real fast but Sonnen took him down.
It was pretty obvious that Silva was losing the majority of the rounds and I believe the judges gave Sonnen the first 3 rounds too so he absolutely needed that submission.
I also think Silva deserves some credit for having the chin he does and just saying Sonnen didn't hit him THAT hard makes no sense. Though he's not known for his striking he has gotten KO and TKO victories in the past which show you shouldn't get punched by this guy on purpose (much like any other fighter durr). But being able to take a beating is a useless attribute when you can't take advantage of it and Silva caught a lucky(?? Also Sonnen's fault for exposing himself) break but that's why he's the champ and why you can't count him out, even when he's under pressure.


I'm actually looking forward to the next time Sonnen gets to challenge Silva just so we can get some closure because personally I'm not that pleased with the result.

the americans made me laugh,first they was boo'ing sonnen before the fight and going mad for anderson but then as soon as it looked like sonnen was in control they was shouting "usa usa" and boo'ing the spider,i mean that is pretty pathetic!
