Although to be fair in a few years time you'll have world class players like Lukaku and Eden Hazard, and you'll more than likely have a better squad than our overpaid bunch of scumbags.

yeh we have a golden young generation and it might still be a wee bit too young/early for our team to shine, which is a shame for euro 2012 but I think in 2-4 years time, players like hazard (+ his 17yo brother thorgan, said to be even better than eden?), lukaku, defour, vermaelen, verthonghen, fellaini, witsel, etc. who all have a bright future ahead of them (in good clubs/leagues) we might have a very strong team !

Actually we have a BUNCH of players between 17 and 22 yo with enormous envy and talent and I think the bad days of the Belgium team are over soon :-)

I just want to see how these lukaku, hazard, like you say, will do vs Finland and in less than a month vs Germany for the first euro2012 qualification match :-)

Yeah, you have some top quality young players. I knew that Eden had a brother but I didn't realise he was as highly rated as him? Oh well it looks good for Belgium anyway, I've heard of that Defour and I've seen him linked with a move to the Premier League so that should be interesting, and as much as it pains me to say it, Vermaelen is definitely one of the best centre backs in the world right now, for sure.

And as for the scum that represents our country, I don't even care anymore. I doubt I'll even watch us play later.

Maybe I'll give a shit again once Crapello quits and the likes of Frank "I do fuck all for 90 minutes, maybe hit a shot or two that goes well over the bar" Lampard and John "I'm slow as fuck and have been a liability for both England and Chelsea for the past 2 years" Terry retire from international football. We do have some decent players coming through though, but I don't see anything different from every other england player from the past 40 years. Only player that looks any different is Jack Wilshere who looks class, already been compared to Xavi (although I don't think he's that good).

I do because appart from the euro and world qualifiers we hardly play anything more.

Also this will be the first match for our new coach Leekens and we all want to see if he can make something out of that team.

Also keep in mind friendlies do influence the FIFA rankings which in the end count for seedings :D.


Also the Belgium U21 plays a very important match at the same time and this one is next to the last group play, against the second of the group France. Belgium beeing 3rd, they can still hope of ending 2nd or even first if they win that match, so I'm deffo going to look aswell :D

Will this be the same map pool for the IEM tournament next week? Just wondering if Aerowalk & Battleforged is in there.

Yeah this is a bit strange. The IEM 2010 map pool, as shown in the quake live browser, is the same as Quakecon, yet the GC qualifier is using a map pool that won't be used in the IEM season?

Maybe ESL wants to give the players some time to practice the new maps. I don't think that players like Weird are/were part of the focus group and so they had only a few days to practice the new maps. But I could be wrong :x

I understand that sentiment. Perhaps they'll move in slow steps, like removing campgrounds for aerowalk for the GC, then removing house of decay for battleforged for the next tourney.

Most likely though, the switch will be abrupt. I would think that the players would prefer an early abrupt switch rather than a late one. Then again, they could just make it a 7 map pool with aerowalk and battleforged added in.

Ehh I actually have been in focus for a long time (longer than most I recon), but I haven't played the new maps often... I have been pretty short on time lately :(
I've played hub like 2ce and battleforged hmmm an hour or 2... but I still know hub from q3 so np there ;)

But ye the 'pro' players should not have an unfair advantage over other players in tournies like this. So imo this is a nice move..... I actually think that oldschool players shouldn't have an unfair advantage over newer players either... (aka I dislike all the q3 maps comming back to ql)
Like lately I really feel for stermy... he's putting in a lot of effort and then tournaments remove a map he knows as well as all other pro's and adds in hub. And he has been really unfortunate in some previous tournaments, I hope he'll do nice @ qcon though (as hub is a map which imo should suit him well if he can learn it fast enough)

Maybe though with the new spawn system hub would play differently (I dunno, haven't played it enough), so I could be wrong about the above...

that would suck. One week to practice on a map that other players have played for years -_-
