how do you load it up in qlive once you unzipped the pk3 file? It does not come up as one of the maps.

It's a bug, for some reason it deletes when you load up QuakeLive. Only way I found to do it was to load up practice in windowed then paste the map into baseq

or make it read only once you put it into baseq folder

this... all non-official files in baseq folders are deleted once connected to the game.

Had a little run through, here's what I think anyway


- Mist is a bitch. Even with picmip 0 in QL it looks a bit crap. With picmip 5+ it's pretty hard to see anything. Maybe it's just something in my config but meh
- RA is a bit of a done deal. Very hard to attack it. Maybe add another route underneath so that people can rocket into the person's feet (ala Aerowalk). The pipes kinda stop anyone attacking from the side of it. Saying that, it can take a couple extra seconds to take the RA so it's kinda a trade-off I guess
- Maybe have those tiny door openings (near the LG) lead somewhere so you can shoot under (silly idea really :P)
- Apart from that pretty decent. Doesn't suffer from the "toolarge" syndrome that a lot of these new maps have. Well laid out

I wonder what tools are needed to start developing QL maps ? Anyone knows ? Can maps be created by someone not even familiar with any kind of coding ? Are there tools for that ?

GTKradiant (1.4/1.5), q3 and the encryption tool is all you need.

Yeah I don't think anything really needs to change so as a final version it's good. Just the mist was the only problem I found (but then that's the same with a few other QL maps)

Yeah I get that problem on qzca1 a shit ton. Never been fused about fixing it though since I never play that much really :P

erm, id tried hard to even remove cigars from sarge's mouth so I dont think they will want to add your map with this current name and I dont even want to guess what textures and stuff you put on your map :D

I thought this as well lol, if your planning on handing it to id for release in QL they will want all the blood patches and stuff removed.

They have skeletons and severed heads on a few of the maps, can't really complain about a blood stain imo.

Just tried it out, looks damn good and it feels like it could serve some decent duel games too! I wait to see this in Quake Live :)

It would be great if they alove this map on the ql, i'm bored with all the other ones allready :))
