hm... some games forbid sens below 1 (namely cs), those players are fucked.
everyone using accel will be super annoyed at trying to find the 'right' value when it's somewhere between 0.004871 and 0.004752... atleast i wouldn't get a mouse with this sensor for that very reason.
But I don't use the middle 6/11 pointer speed setting?
If you want exact 1-to-1 in-game response when the pointer speed slider is not in the 6/11 position, or you have a custom display DPI, see the MarkC Mouse Fix Builder, which works for Windows 7, Vista and XP.
For those older games that turn acceleration on, it gives the same response as position 6/11 does (1-to-1), without having to move the pointer speed slider to 6/11.

yeah, ok :) i cba to do that, just wanted to point out that the move to forcing dpi values of 1800 or greater is a mistake in my eyes. your mileage may vary.
i just realized you signed up today and every one of your five comments is in this thread about the "new sensor". therefore i will stop arguing with you, it makes little sense as you seem to have a fixed opinion already.
It's 800 if you don't use the + and - buttons in front and behind the wheel. They switch the dpi between 400,800,1800, and the mouse starts with a 800 default every boot without drivers.
I thought you knew that already, maybe this post is useless but : DPI and sensitivity are proportional. So it would be about twice as fast (eg you would need to divide your sensitivity by 800/1800 to get the same sensitivity).
But I wouldn't do that, maybe it's a placebo but 2 different DPI with the same adjusted sensitivity (same rotation / distance) don't feel equivalent, and I prefer the low DPI feeling.
The info I got about this sensor is that you can use it with IR instead of LED and change angle snapping on/off, configure liftoff distance and a new way to update the firmware.
If I switched to 120hz lcd, then I'd be getting 120hz at 1680x1050 I'd get a mouse that uses this. Right now I use 400dpi, and 800x600 @ 120hz, so this IME 3.0 @ 500hz is fine.
Assuming the mouse that gets this is comparatively ergonomic for my hand shape/size to my current mouse.
