I would play TDM myself but is a bit bleh without voice comms plus the skill range is greater then something like CTF.

i most certainly wouldn't, still have horrible memories of the different merc teams i was part of. people need to learn tdm first, no voice com will help them.

pub tdm suffers from the hordes of ffa players. if you don't even grasp the idea of how important ra and quad are, all hope is lost (for your team).

tbh mate theres alot of new players adding in TDM latley, should come play some, public TDM & CTF is totally worthless, least with pickup you get fair(ish) teams and the game actually lasts 20 mins with the same 8 people that started.

+ in terms of leagues etc I think TDM is about to pickup in a big way, high hopes for the euro cup this year and any upcoming TDM leagues, its good shit.

I used to have a 50 slot ventrilo hanging around somewhere. Mate has the details for it but I do have a 10 slot ventrilo ready and available and am more then happy to get into TDM :]

Just never got into it because I have absolutely no experience of it and don't particularly want to enter a game and feel like the retard that is letting his side down :P I think that's the main reason a lot of TDM isn't played nowadays. Harder for newer guys to get into.

My opinion is that quakelive is not promoting community, new players just click a random server and do not care to meet up with fellow players to play together, result : you're left with the old players who are bored with TDM, and are switching to CTF because this is fairly new to them.

We need quakelive integrated ladders !!

It's horrible tbh, you can't even find one single public premium TDM game during the day or night. If you don't have a clan and don't participate in TDM leagues, you're basically fucked up because you won't find anything besides DM6 game. Public premium TDM is just not existent atm.

In Q3 we had polish TDM Aster servers which were full basically all the time, the whole fucking day and half night; you could always find people to play with and it was only one polish server.

Now everything is *international*, players from all countries, many servers in EU, let's say active community, so you could think it's much easier now to find a random/public TDM game, but it's quite the opposite.

Well I'd like to just hop in on servers, play CPM4/OSPDM5/OSPDM6 with random people from all around Europe then disconnect and do my stuff. But I can't. Now you HAVE TO use irc and wait for the glory of 8 people singing up for the game... which sometimes takes hours.

puplic tdm in q3 was alot nicer than in ql. perhaps because after some years there were only atleast experienced, if not high skilled players, which was enough to mostly give good games and people rarely disconnected. at least so i remember it, may be wrong ofc :D

in ql are too much newbs and i think we all agree that the matchmaking system doesn't work good enough to give an more or less even playing field
