No clue what networks these are on, but if it's TBS or FOX, it's because of MLB playoffs. Hell's Kitchen isn't on either, and I wanted to watch that :\
Leverage is a great con show. A Master theif / Genius Hacker / Professional Assassin / Grifter and the MasterMind come together to work con's on criminals. It's got great cons and hilarious character interactions.
The Mentalist is about a guy who used to be a psychic (cold reader) and was attempting to gain fame by trying to read a serial killer through his tv show and get him to stop killing. The killer code named 'Red John' got pissed off and slashes up his wife and daughter. Now the guy works with the CBI (like FBI) and is trying to hunt down the killer. The main thing about this show is that Patrick Jane - the cold reader - is fucking badass (says when he finds john he will kill him and anyone in his way - even the CBI he works with). Also he traps people in mind games and gets them to confess using all sorts of tricks and cons, its great.
Criminal Minds is about serial killers. Every episode features a different type of serial killer and the profilers that try to catch him. How can you not like this?
Burn Notice is about a Spy that gets 'burned' which is blacklisted. He has no identity or bank accounts etc and all the other spy people don't want to get involved with him. So now all the people he has fucked in the past know where he is and can find him. Every week he does cons and fights the bad guys in ingenious 'spy' ways.
True Blood/ Supernatural are about monsters and are fun to watch - fuck you.
"The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper (Hamm), the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960s traditional family values." Every episode is like a mini-movie. Everything about it is near-perfect in tone, from the writing and acting to the sets and wardrobe.
Season 4 just finished, but a few weeks before it started they showed all of Season 3 again. Hopefully they do the same with Season 5, and if they do I suggest you check it out (and/or watch the previous season on NetFlix or something).
Battlestar Galactica
Breaking Bad
Californication
Dexter
House
Stargate Universe (i know, cheesy crap)
Misfits (beats heroes by far)
The Big Bang Theory (cheesy geek humour ftw)
The Sopranos
The Wire
Weeds
If only the humour really was geeky. The show consist of nothing eles than tacky one-liners trying to sound like something intelligent peopler would actually joke about. But because the show is aimed at the common masses these jokes really can't be intelligent nor geeky, and are just lame.
It's almost painfull to watch how hard the show is struggling to be funny.
Yeah that's what I thought at first too. Stereotypical nerd jokes. Hoo boy!
It's a good thing Jim Parsons is so good in his role as Sheldon though. Now I just think of it as "The Sheldon Show" and ignore the others. I find them very boring.
There all all equally annoying and badly written imo. Neurotic nerd genius is not funny, because one can't relate to ANYTHING he does.
While that probably goes for most sitcom characters out there, except ALF, it's the utter tediousness of all the characters that destroys the viewing pleasure for me.
Battlestar Galactica - already finished
Breaking Bad - on break until like summer 2011 or what?
Californication - cba
Dexter - maybe once it ends so I can watch all seasons in a row like series should be watched
House - no thx
Stargate Universe (i know, cheesy crap) - cheesy crap indeed but maybe it'll turn out not to suck
Misfits (beats heroes by far) - no comment
The Big Bang Theory (cheesy geek humour ftw) - no thanks
The Sopranos - already finished
The Wire - already finished
Weeds - no thanks
dexter season 1 and 2 are the only ones worth watching, 3 was plain bad and 4 was okay but not that great. But the intensity of the show fell after season 2, I am an avid fan of the show from 1st season 1st episode, and now I just see it because of habit but the show lost its charm after season 2. You should see season 1 and 2 in time order in a series of marathon runs :)
I'd say SGU is one of the less cheesy Sci-Fi series I've seen. Certainly less so than it's predecessors (well SG1 was $ when it started then sorta went a bit too cheesy)
Also: the end of BSG wasn't cheesy? Actually it wasn't, it was fucking stupid. I guessed it 2 seasons in and thought "nah, that's fucking retarded... they'd never do that."
No they can control where they're going, also it's in the same universe, the stargate is just a transportation device.
I guess the stargates were never the most amazingly written shows but I still really liked them, and it was some of the best sci-fi there's ever been (although that doesn't say much.)
i made the mistake of "just" popping in one episode last week, cause i was bored. Then i got sick, now I'm done with my 7th (i think?) watchthtough, and as always, I'm both excited because i found jokes i missed before, and sad, sooo sad.
I used to feel sad too, and I still do a bit, but I'm also glad it ended early before it turned to shit.
Instead of 10 seasons with maybe 4 good ones and the rest being shit, we got 3 seasons of perfection. Can't ask for much more than that. :)
I hate you more than anyone else on this site and I'm not joking.
You haven't really even done anything to deserve it, I just fucking hate you. I hate you. I fucking haaaattttteeee yoooouuuuuuuuu biiigggg chiiinnnkkkky nigggger fuuuuccck yooouuu
I'm up to date with it now, I have gotten into it and it was REALLY good for a while but it's sorta slowing down now plus I really don't like the actor who plays the main lad, he acts too 'hard' and doesn't look that tough.
New Inbetweeners is shit. Tries way too hard. US version of The Office is actually pretty good (well, second series onwards), Skins I've never watched and never intend to and Top Gear nowadays is shit
I actually quite liked the new series, the first episode was so unbelievably shit it nearly put me off watching the rest of the series though. Episode 5, I think it was, was just absolute genius.
should watch the event, sheet just finish on e4+1.. too much happen in first episode, then got alien teleporting a plane and sheet, just needed some BMX bandits riding across rooftops
its inner city lost Vs flash forward Vs xfiles, with aliens n politics and sheet n sheet some more init
i got it too, but think ill wait till there are 3 or 4 eps. pilots always have this thing where they explain whats going on and its boring as fuck 99% of the time, need some eps after it to get it rolling and rate it properly :>
