Steelseries' 9HD is pretty good. It's kinda rough but smooth. Kinda hard to explain. Just really need to try it. Might be too fast though if you want a lot of friction

U kiddin me? Destructor is like the worst platic pad i ever used, wornd out in 2months, more friction the cloth pads after its worn out, and the sides will still be slick.
9hd is more durable and lower friction, rough =/= more friction, most of the time its even lesser friction, try the 9hd, s&s or even the swift

I've had a Destructor for over a year and I still haven't noticed any wear that would affect my aim.

I doubt that, tbh. I received a free QcK+ for winning some cup, I tried it vs the "worn" Destructor and I liked the Destructor more.

I think it's more likely some people are obsessed about their gear and think that some new mouse/pad will give them that 2% additional accuracy. Unless your existing gear has tracking issues or something else really severe, it doesn't, it just feels different.

Destructor after a year is fucking worn, just hold it to the light and look at it from a specific angle - you will notice

Notice how I said "wear that would affect my aim". I'm talking about performance, not look or feel. Of course I can see that it is worn and the feel has somewhat changed, but unless I'm really picky about the way my mousepad looks, it's still fine as in I can still aim well with it.

I mean, in the eurocup game vs aCtion I hit close to like 70% railgun one one of the maps with my "omgsoworn" mousepad. I doubt I would have hit 80% if I had had a new one.

Yeah maybe it does affect your aim, you can't tell for others can you? The "feel" difference is freakin big, it feels somewhat sticky after its worn, so my opinion would be 9hd or zowie swift, since both are rougher then the destructor and more durable

All plastic pads waer out thus friction is inconsistent. If you could accept faster hard mousepad, Icemat is a nice solution.

I will be doing a full review soon but really recommended this mouse pad it's unlike anything I've tried and very high quality.

And I DO NOT recommend the Ironclad. It has terrible skipping issues. Go read the Razer BluePrints forums. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I´m also considering other mats, due to longivity which usually means more consistent friction.

Yep Megasoma has same tracking issues as the Ironclad (atleast with the Copperhead). I say this because I have one and tested it. There was also a video review on Amazon.com from a verified purchaser that showed the mouse sticks to part of the pad when you slide it around, after about 6 months usage. I reccomend you stay away from Razer's mouse pad's the only one worth anything is the cloth Razer Goliathus.

Ok I ordered a kai.3g now. Was 80euro on amazon and I was a bit worried about the interface from their homepage so I hope I get it and get the right now :)

I actually JUST purchased a mousepad from them on their homepage. Are you sure you selected country and currency, then added the correct pad? It was fairly straight forward..

I've been using a Razer eXact Mat for well over 2 years. Intellimouse 3.0. It hasn't worn out. It doesn't stick.

How is the friction on the control side of it? Seems they dont sell it any more.

It's low but very rough. I used the Speed side, until that wore down in the middle not more than 6+ months later. Bought mine back in 2005 I believe.

Get some silicon spray for 5 dollars (if that) and spray it on the mouse pad....as good as new.

I got the goliathus speed and control now. I dont agree that there is more fricton on the speed.

But I´m really comfortable with the goliathus control, gonna stick with it, at least for now. Let´s see until i get the kai.3g. I havent gotten an acknowledgement of my order so we´ll see how that goes.

Personally, I used to use 'fast' mousepads, and I dont believe it was my gamingstyle, it was that my hand and arm where quite tense.
Now that I relaxed, the rougher pads are great, as long as there isnt any extra friction when tracking (like the lightning gun) or a rougher start fricton when going from still.

For me also it has been a performance issue cause I got annoyed when I couldnt do the things I wanted to with the low friction pads.
