There's a really nice video blog by old school (well he's nearly 40) Street Fighter player Jeff Schaefer over at youtube. Talks a lot about the scene in the early 90's and the early versions of SF and upto more modern times. So if you ever wondered about the pro arcade scene or missed out on the whole arcade thing then this might be for you.
The guy does known what he's talking about aswell cos I recall reading about him and tomo even in the UK when I was a kid.
Its in 8+ parts, its quite a cool story even if you're not into SF, as it talks a lot about the dedication which is required even for today. Even then these guys were playing 8 hours a day.
As cool as online gaming is, imagine everytime you played a game it was a like a lan tourney?
That's how it used to be in arcades before consoles got so good.
