1. ... We are not elitist, we are just more in touch with "reality" and are not affraid to tell the truth.
2. Sport or not a sport ... I chess a sport, or figure skating or whatnot ... in my opinion calling anything a sport results of which are not directly linked to brute force or speed is not a sport. Hence skating ... majority of extreme sports and so on are not really a sport, ski jumping is a semi sport because results are combined from how "strong/fast" your are and at the same time how "well" you're able to do something.
Since in e-sports the one with most kills usually wins, which is directly derived from how fast and smart you are ... e-sports should definitely be classified as a sport.
3. Some do and some don't. Usually one needs a cd-key or an equivilent which can be obtained by buying the freakin' game. And it is not like you can't pirate console games ... if you haven't realized this can be done stfu and figure it out and do what you want with the knowledge.
4. If you find yourself bitching and whining about a topic like this you are a freaking nerds ... next.
5. Why shouldn't one take advantage of the technological revolution which enables all of us to be entertained with nice visuals. One can always play tick tack toe with pen and paper, but some just want more.
6. Yes, one could always use ones finances to procure more booze ...
7. MMORPGs can be fun once in a while ... maybe people prefer to stay indoors because "you people" are outside.
8. Just because people have opinions, are not affraid to speaks out for what they want does not mean that commoner, ignorant, whining nerds like "you people" should be able to even think that you are in any way compedent enough to make comments towards PC-gamers.
You got trolled. Console games have much more popularity in at least the North American e-sports scene (see: MLG) than PC games, console gamers can still easily be huge nerds, console gamers still pirate lots of console games, and console fanboys can't make it any more obvious that they're elitists than they already do. Also, when they bring up MMORPG's, they obviously failed to cite games like Final Fantasy XI which, at at least one point, was fairly popular yet was PS2-exclusive.
I say, these console flunkies are really getting on my nerves. Right! Enough of their tomfoolery. Gentlemen, let us pay no heed to these peasant simpletons, we are better than that.

Ok now for a proper answer which should draw a line under the situation by offering an accurate answer.
A lot of gamers think they know about games but they often lack the fundamental understanding I do and then you keep squabbling with each other based on their own understanding or lackof, ironically like console gamers.
Why?
Cos the PC or CONSOLE gamer is a flawed question asked by unqualified minds but becaue enough of them exist, it goes on and is deemed as valid. So allow me to explain...
Firstly, a videogame is a videogame, a gamer is a gamer.
A console is something which plays games, a pc is a console with an OS (a real one) that also plays games. its that simple.
And yes its works the other ways around
So then you need to ask yourself, ok so what seperates them.
And the answer to that is control input and community skill.
And community skill is derived from input devices.
A mouse and Keyboard is simply a vastly SUPERIOR device for some game<.
And becuase of this, it allows INDIVIDUALS to reach levels of play that you simply cannot obtain on a console on a game of that nature. providing of course that the game in question could benefit from a mouse and keyboard.
And because of this, the skill level of that game or community goes higher. That's it, that's the difference, but its one of logic, not the dumb nigger vs honkey mentality that plagues the common mind.
There are plenty of games that console gamers excel at, driving games, fighting games, platform games etc. Why?
because those game DO NOT benefit from a control input device that is by large exclusive to the PC, so the skill level of the console community can grow.
So there's the real answer to this discussion and I would appreciate it if you could copy and paste it around the next time you hear a bunch of tards arguining over shit they don't have the busfare to argue about.
Yes console gamers have more tards in the community but that's mostly because a lot of them are young or just play FPS games and appear even more so that way because that's what you know.
So to conclude.
1) Every modern game is limited by the input device.
2) Whichever device has the best potential for skill, that will create players and communities that can maximise the potential.
3) if such input devices do not catch on, that community will become worse.
I've given it some thought and I still can't figure out why a company that sells computers is trying to discourage computer sales, am I really missing something? I guess they're just hosting the article? Still retarded though.
Pretty sure this is just some lame troll, even if #1 is 100% true as demonstrated on ESR by Q3/QL fanboys' inability to play anything else and try to enjoy something new.
