As far as i know the fatal1ty pc is the one custom made by orion and features crossfired HD5970's, evga x58 classified a 3.8ghz i7920 (OC) 6 gb of dominator ram, ssd's etc. I dont see where it is says it is the Fatal1ty PC he used in Quake 4 at WSVG...

- Any Bronze, Silver or Gold PSUs are decent and will serve the user well
- Any RAM what can pass memtest without a single error are perfect for an everyday use (high quality rams are the same gimmicks like most of the gamer equipments, and 3 times the price will give you about 3-5 fps (max!) in games)

different silicon is used on different ram, otherwise it would cost the same, more expensive ram would be classed as better for overclocking because it has a better chance of using better silicon, but its not always the way


most ram dont have ECC, ECC is made for server boxes, only the hardcore will spend the extra and have ECC ram in your desktop box

I tested a lot of rams, including ECC ones, and they are just cost more, but won't give you much extra in terms of system performance. ECC was a must in SD ram times in servers or even in HQ workstations, but it's not that important anymore imo.

installation :

put the q43a folder in the main quake4 folder :

drivepath/quake4/q43a/

running it :

to run SP as unofficial patch worx/listen servers/connect to servers :

run quake4.exe +set fs_game q43a

or simply load quake4 like normal and load the mod through the main menu link in the bottom left corner

to start a dedicated server :

open the drivepath/quake4/q43a/q43a_txt.pk4 in any zip progran and extract the Docs/serverconfig.cfg file into drivepath/quake4/q43a/

run quake4ded +set fs_game q43a +exec serverconfig.cfg

how about a listen server? better than in q3?

its all works, client side wont have or if they do, it will be choppy sound when guiding projectiles form POV,

listen servers are exactly the same as deds, = all the releases and recoding, and new features, try it,

you better off, extracting the serverconfig.cfg and removing teh spawnserver from the bottom and saving it as listenconfig.cfg, and ingame drop the console and exec listenserver.cfg

if you want to disable some of the main settings not on the cant be bothered with it more options screen

but if your in the main quake4 game, and exec the serverconfig.cfg, it will just spawn a listenserver

The PC was used during 2006, so its about 5 years old. The case alone is badass. But I'm sure you could find a lot of different ways to use this gaming PC for a gamer trying to get into competitive gaming.

If you already have a badass machine, then yeah its not an upgrade, but I know a lot of kids out there that want a PC to help them get into the game.
