Hmm, I want to get a new desk one of these days. Maybe by then he'll have a "desk for gamers" that is actually more ideal than what you find otherwise.

Don't know, it sounds really really strange. Especially the term "Furniture" applied to gaming. Is there going to be a Fatal1ty hope chest? Fatal1ty sofa? Fatal1ty credenza??

This makes perfect sense (and has done for a long time), it would be nice if one day gaming had some kind of standardisation. I'm always whining that monitor is too close at lans, or I don't have enough space for this or that.

But I'm not sure how its gonna sell to the home market, so unless he can do a deal with one of the big events on a big game, then I'm not sure it will take off outside the pro scene which is quite small.

Most players would rather spend the money on frames per second that a dedicated desk. Plus it will make the logistics of an event much harder as they usually just use any table or chairs available.

Its a pretty serious investment to make. But its a good idea that will probably one day become regulation for pro gamers (when it really takes off).

Drilling holes in a mouse/table does not practically change the volume of it unless you purposely drill so many that it collapses the structure or you use liquids etc in which case the statement is true, but then you would have to be pretty stupid or in your case pedantic, stupid and desperate to go that far.

Keep trying, I like the social aspect you're bringing in recently, you keep telling me what other people think of me. Haha.

When I come onto a forum based around something you did more than talk about then maybe I'll stop laughing at that statement.

In the meantime, divide those hours, dreams post counts by what you achieved with them in the real world and maybe you'll have a batter basis of comparison for your humour.

I don't make webpages and while I acknowledge the physics of an object changes if you drill holes in it, if its not going to have any negative impact on the equipment or player then its not important in this environment.

Oh, while you are busy leaning something, lets look at the physical relation of weight and volume of an object, you know the wordsyou mentioned in the begining?

Weight = mass * gravitational acceleration

Now

mass = volume * density

So that means:

Weight = volume * density * gravitational acceleration.


Now, assuming we have constant environmental conditions, the position is fixed and you are not busy dipping your funiture in acid both density of the materail and the gravitational acceleration are constant.

That means, volume and weight behave proportional.

Or for dummies: If you reduce volume your stuff weighs less and if you don't reduce volume it weighs the same.

You fell for a common misconception. Many people don't understand what volume means exactly, especially when it is used in relation to weight, as you did. You used a wrong term, no matter how much you cry and beg.

If you insist on not believing me, feel free to ask any physicist or engineer what they think of the following statement:

It's funny that they would call it gaming furniture since ergonomic furniture is typically aimed towards anyone who sits a lot at a desk, let alone a computer desk. Gimmicks galore!

It's also about the spaces and clean functional layout that can accomodate any modern gamer and all his peripherals. Little nuances than just about any furniture manufacturer never really thinks about too much. It's not just being ergonomic, which other than the chair there really isn't anything ergonomic about, aside from say having an adjustable height area for where the monitor sits or the desk being at optimal height.

That doesn't change the fact that unless it comes with a tray to hold my keyboard and mouse or a "cup holder" for my Xbox 360 controller, it's just another ergonomic chair. What's defined as good posture and good for both your *ideal* comfort as well as your back doesn't change because you're in the middle of playing video games.

A tray to hold your keyboard wouldn't be too stable, much less ergonomic and would only be a hindrance if you have to use a mouse as well. Gamers are more likely to notice an improvement when their furniture, posture, and setup are all in harmony. As I said already, being ergonomic and gaming furniture aren't mutually exclusive because as gaming furniture it serves to be both ergonomic and have extra's that would appeal to gamers needs.

While I do agree that most of the hate is very exagerated I can see on some level why people dislike him. Mainly because he puts himself up on a pedestal higher than everyone else and leverages that to market himself, even though factually there are lots of other players just as good if not better. Much of this started from his website promoting him with "11" world championship titles, which is nonsense. He was champion in Q3A early on and then PK which no one hardly competed in, along with D3 and AVP. He took advantage of his circumstances and made the most of it, which means he has a business saavyness, it's just most people don't like the way he has gone about it. The 2nd reason people hate is because he put his name on products that weren't really any better becaues of it. His Creative mouse was an utter failure as well. But aside from that, I think if he can really introduce something that has the gamer in mind and does things that gamers would think of, then more power to him.

I think it's a great idea. Have the same desk height, chair etc in tournament as you have at home? Huge playing field leveler for those that can't afford to LAN on their own often losing simply because they're not used to adapting in that way. While I do understand that, in its' present form, this ability to adapt plays into the champions, it's still ultimately a hindrance in performance.
