dude playing with w-lan makes no sense. Why would you wanna do it in the first place? I've played wc3 via the University w-lan access without problems but I would never combine w-lan at Quake or Counterstrike or any other game in that genre.

Do yourself a favour and buy a cable. And even if it costs you a few bucks you won't regret it. I remember playing some w-lan guy in duel. It was fucking awful.

i used it when i played over wlan for a year, it fucking sucked either way. cable is the way to go.

bigger antenna or even directional antennas help a lot.
when the local internetsignal has gone off, I am the only one in my universitarian residence who has internet, because I can reach the wlan of the university net nearby with my big external usb wlan antenna. But I am a computer science student, I really do need the internet.

I tried wlan optimizers and shit when I was on wireless, but truth of the matter, it never worked. Wireless is just shit. My net's shit anyway, but wireless was taking the biscuit.

Got one of these and plugged it into the wall. Meant I could basically just use cable

I've always wondered how these work tbh.

Wlan optimizer only helps fixing the wifi lag in Windows that happens every 60 secs or so (cos windows asks the wireless card to scan for local networks). It works on Vista and Seven (in XP you need to do something else to fix it).

It won't fix other issues you may have (interferences etc) though.

i use wifi and it made my every minute lag spikes disapier (they only started after i upgraded to windows 7)

i recomend it

btw i allwas played quake live with wifi and never had problems
