I recently tested Cyphers cfg due to boredom and I realized that to get this crosshair you had to use cg_Drawcrosshair 10 othwewise it wouldn't show. The downside is that when you do so the original QL crosshair 10 is also shown so you have to play with cg_crosshairsize 0.

in other words: cypher doesn't even use linkins custom crosshairs :p

So what does he use? There are no crosshair binds in his latest config. Does he use a different custom crosshair?

I tried it dude and nothing came up :? Thats why I was led to believe that he used that custom one.

he was using this at dreamhack, you can see it on some videos where they recorded his screen while he was playing (lvlup aftermovie for example, right at the beginning of the second part)

Had the same problem, no crosshair, did a bunch of crosshair commands and edited his config a bit and got them to show, but he uses fucked up ones lol, like 7 i think it is for LG (although that seems common these days?) and that weird double semi circle one for RL, which seemed really odd..

you did it wrong, he's using one single custom xhair for all weapons, those scripts left in his cfg are useless trash.
his custom xhair is like yellow #3 with bigger center area(like thick CS crosshair)

Just paste it into your .menu file (at the end so it's easy to find and delete if you don't like it. Then for this one just put cg_drawcrosshair 0 in your game config.

also note that he plays with fov 90 which makes the crosshair even more usable for rail. I would not recommend to use it with fov 100 and above.

It should always be fine for sg, pg, shaft, nades, rocket etc. if you are sensitive to crosshair it might fuck you up with mg though.

if i use this crosshair with crosshairsize 0 then crosshairhitstyle does not work and i don't have a crosshair when spectating. there must be some other way!?

That's because these people make stuff up. The interface is always at 640*480 and gets stretched if you use non-4:3 resolutions.

No they don't. It's because lots of custom crosshairs use positions or sizes which have decimal values, and this makes them stretch differently on different resolutions.

I've been using his crosshair for some time now although i've modified it for a higher resolution since the gap between the graphics was a bit too wide in certain distances. So far so good, now I just need to return med shitass Xai and get a sixth WMO. Best mouse ever. Amen :-)

I always aim godly with fresh configs, no matter the fov/crosshair/enemy model. First 4-5 games with the config and im getting called all kinds of shit, hack, tier raper, fatal1ty, etc just insane.

However the longer i stick to 1 i get progressively worse, like i'll be hitting 70 rail in first few matches vs same guys and then at the 10th game ill be at 50 rail, then 20th game at 40 rail and it just hovers around there. (all these games over a week with same competition)

It's just a total mind fuck, just really annoying. Anyone else feel like that? or can tell me wtf is going on ?

yup. same here. i also notice this when i alternate between drawgun on and off. i could never come up with an explanation for this but it's been happening for years.

Same. I found out that changing the color/size/style of xhairs, drawgun on/off, LG impact on/off, beam style, etc helps me on the short term. After a few matches, when I get used to the new settings, i slowly revert back to my normal aim. I guess it has to do with concentration: the new settings creat an unfamiliar environment that forces you to be much more focused.

made the border thicker than in the picture and fixed its position as well, should fit perfectly now.
also made the whole thing tighter as _s' version felt a bit loose, so now it's probably tighter than the original slightly because the borders made the boxes bigger.

/edit: just tested the crosshair on different resolutions and the borders don't fit on 640*480 and 800*600, only 1024*768 (couldn't test it above) :|. i'm going to try to fix it later sometime, or not.

they added the q4 xhairs to ql, one of them is exactly what youre looking for but i dont know the number, just go through them all till you find it

I tried just putting ur link1n800.menu to the ui folder and execcing it with that hudfiles command, then I tried pasteing the stuff into my ncts.menu file and exec it again with drawcrosshair 10 crosshairsize 0, didnt work.

Then I decided to try the same thing with #32 and his drawcrosshair 0

paste link1n800.cfg into your ui folder.
put this line into your ncts.cfg file somewhere:

save it.
ingame apply these commands:
cg_hudfiles ncts.cfg; loadhud; cg_drawcrosshair 10; cg_crosshairsize 0
you should now see your custom crosshair

Modified burgonya's xhair for 1600x1200, the open area I used crosshair 2 at size 32 as a guide. For me, this is comfortable up to fov 95 (I play with 92).

just an idea, when using this custom-crosshair u can still get some hitcolors: choose crosshair 6 (the dot) and move it with cg_crosshairy a bit up or down, so it covers one of the squares, done
