Why u got drivers in the first place anyway?

To set the mouse to 1000Hz and 1800DPI.

And I'm thinking I might end up mapping the thumb bottons to some keys - for weapon switching etc.

I tried that. As soon as I uninstalled the drivers, all the profiles that I had set up in the mouse, reverted back to default[s]. :o

Jeez, doesn't the death adder have switches on the bottom of the mouse like the abyssus? I just put it on 450dpi and 1000hz and plugged it in.

I use 1800dpi on Mac OS though because whoever thought up the mac mouse system was completely insane.

It has such a button, but it doesn't change DPI, per se.

It changes the profiles, which you set up in the drivers. In the profile, you can set your DPI, of course.

But none of it works if the drivers are not present on the OS.

At least this is what happens here.

It will save only the dpi and polling rate on its default profile. You wont be able to change profiles or change the dpi.

For me, it does not save polling rate. It reverts back to 500Hz every time.

I'm not sure about DPI, as I use the standard 1800 setting. Would have to test that again.

use 500hz/1800dpi then, using razer drivers is a bad idea.

1) Don't use mouse drivers
2) keep it 6/11 - enchance pointer precision off no matter what
3) use cheesemousefix for XP
4) Use raw input wherever possible


Btw what game are we talking about ? What mousepad are you using ? still that teflon one from cs hyde ? Any hints of jitter observed yet ?

edit: c) as others pointed out: for xp, use either anir's accel fix or the cheesemousefix.

What chicken said plus you can also try the other mousefix (anir's or something, that .exe which turns off acceleration completely, I still have it if you need it).

this'll sound crazy and i'm probably mad but flipping my qck so it was the right way up (logo in bottom left) seemed to help somewhat with my da's tracking :D i applied all the firmware and whathaveye as well

Click on "On" button near text "Acceleration" in DA drivers.

When I go into the Razer driver, the acceleration is stated as "On"

Heres your problem, the software is unclear :

On = "On" Highlighted.

Off = "On" Not Highlighted.

Also, apply accel mouse fix, such as MarkC's.

Well, thats not exactly clever by Razer. Making the "on" button so ambivalent.

Anyway, it changed nothing for me. :(

Even when "On" is not highlighted, I still have this damn acceleration.

Didn't see you use XP, but there are links to the CPL fix and mousefix in the post.

1) Why not use mouse drivers? You'd think a simple thing like turn acc. on/off was something that Razer would be capable of doing in their drivers. :(

And no, I have not tested it with the CS Hyde yet. This DA's buttons are too hard to press for ue with the CS Hyde + fUnc Liquid.

I'm going to try my luck with a cloth pad to begin with.

But I'll probably end up with my CS Hyde again, and trying to mod the microswitches of this DA to make them softer to press. :x

Mouse drivers can cause tons of problems, and might even add some delay (I heard that on ESR I believe).

1) Because mouse drivers normally works by intercepting all the data from your mouse, processing it and then forwarding it to your OS. MS drivers are fairly harmless, however Razer and Logitech drivers intercept the mouse data even before RAW-input. Extra processing takes CPU, resources and increases latency. IMO the DA felt laggy when using drivers with it.

Even with the old Razer mice I had years back, I had no problems disabling acceleration. I was on XP back then, and still am on XP today.

step2. reset mouse pointer speed to 6/11 and disable enhanced pointer precision in mouse @ windows control panel
step3. play

if you still have "acceleration", you don't, it's in your head

Sounds like the Roccat drivers I could never properly get rid of. Well, I could but it had fucked up something in the windows mouse drivers and I never found a fix.

I reinstalled XP recently (not just because of this but it was actually one of the reasons) but that's not quite a solution...

Conclusion : never install mouse drivers.

I'm going to install Win7 tomorrow.

"Acceleration" you are talking about is a feature, you can disable it by upgrading your mouses firmware... just check razers site.

Update firmware maybe solve solve few things.

don't worry, I bought it too. Tried it for a week, but it was a struggle. Then I gave it to a friend who was using a regular mouse, but he told me that he couldn’t stand mainly his shape and he gave it back to me.

The only thing I liked about it, was the left and right buttons, which seemed responsive.

if u look closer that ON button for accel in razer drivers is highlited when on and faded when off

instal drivers again click it so its not highlited=> off

Fuck Deathadder never liked shape! Tracking was only thing on my 3G DA but nothing else! AFAIK 3.5G has shit sensor and it jlitters so FUCK IT!

Yeah I bought the 3.5g a couple of weeks back. The sensor is terrible even updated to lastest firmware. Was still jittering slightly on my talent.

They released a pair of bugged firmwares for the DA3G (1.37NDC & 1.38DC). With this firmwares u get unstable polling rates & a bad mouse tracking.

death adder is a good mouse. i had two 1800s and now a 3.5g. i just set it to 1000hz/1800dpi and its completely fine. no jittering or what so ever, just as good as the old ones or even better. im hitting 35% average in ql with it, which i think is not too bad. could be more, but perhaps do some ppl just not have the ability to aim that good. dont always make hardware responsible for your failures.
btw. cypher uses a abyssus, which has built in exactly the same sensor as the da. and he is hitting, not complaining like some smartasses here who always try to make razer mice bad.

IF you're using windows XP SP3, use wcafix.instead of accelfix.
You won't have acceleration after that.

Test the accel in windows by lowering the DPI

No acceleration in UT2004 or UT3 for me.

Please keep in mind that SOME Games force their own acceleration and there isn't anything you can do to stop it. Jupiter EX+ engine games have accuracy/squiggly line/massive acceleration problems at anything above 125hz (you basically can't move the mouse in a straight line without it noticably being deflected away); setting to 125hz solves MOST of the problems; this is a fault of the Korean programmers using ancient i/o for these games.

anir's accelfix does not work with sp3 and as he disappeared and deleted his posts at razerblueprints.net i'd use cheese's fix if i where you.

Works 100% for me without running in safe mode. (SP3 and perfect feeling)
Though I do have all the security stuff disabled (DEP, system files protection etc are all off).
