"The new Kova[+] as far as I know has a little prediction (by far not as strong as the classic Kova). If you want to be on the safe side, get the Kone[+], this mouse I definitely know that it doesn't have prediction."



I hope it'll have the same light prediction as the Roccat Pyra (that I actually use and that I think it's the best mouse for my taste).

I actually liked design on Roccat Kova but mouse was too flimsy.
Sensor was nice but not as good as Mx518 so I returned it back.

If Kova+ sensor is good enough I might consider buying it.

And does it have a 1000hz polling ONLY like the Pyra? (as in, not changeable even with the drivers or a 3rd party software)

That was the thing that bothered me the most. I liked the shape and the weight so much :(
Sensor felt weird but I had a crap pad back then so I don't really know.

From what I saw in the pictures for the new roccat kova+ on their website is that it will allow you to change the polling rate in the software which is pretty cool.

Btw, anyone know if it would be a fine palm grip mouse if you have small hands, or would I still get wrist cramps even with small hands palming it?

I doubt palming it is an option. Its a finger tip/claw type of mouse. For palming its simply too low.

will it also allow you to change the godawful shape?

Little prediction is fine.. IMO players play fine with EC1/2 in Qake Live.
Its just over hype by people around here.

Or it is that some people just dont have enough fine grained distinctions to actually feel the difference.

Does anyone knows that Kova+ has got new sensor or they are using same old sensor?

New sensor from PixArt (same as Pyra) instead of the ADNS-3080.

I have Pyra wireless and it has good tracking only wireless sucks. I might give a try to Kova+. I had original Kova which did not track good but it has nice shape that I liked that time.

Only thing doubtful is sensor is not in center.

I honestly have no clue. PixArt is a fairly new brand and I kinda doubt they would be able to dethrone Avago's offerings so quickly.

On the bright side, the mouse now has voice feed back which makes you PWN faster while playing crysis wars competitively.

PixArt isn't a new brand, they were founded in 1998, they make mouse sensors for a long time but it's their first sensor that is gaming grade at least on paper.

PS: Afaik they got sued a few times by Avago.

Oh, I was aware of that, I mean a company just won't pop up developing sensors :D

Yeah, I kinda meant gaming grade but it seems I worded that wrong :P

Only other vmouse I know of is the japanese Dharmapoint DRM26 but I hadn't time to test it yet, maybe this weekend.

My Kova didn't have tracking problems but a huge LOD.

Yea, the off center sensor on the Kova[+] is a bad idea.

The DRM26 is a pretty alright mouse. No prediction (or minimal anyway) and what acceleration existed, I did not notice. Shape was pretty uncomfortable though.

EDIT: It has a pretty high LOD, enough to be quite annoying.
