using hostnames, it will all take 10mins to setup, then giving making every1 use static ip`s

They are supposed to be pretty good.
See if you can setup net limiter on their pc's and just cap their upload and download, if they are not serious gamers they won't notice anyway. QOS stuff can be hit and miss and you never really know.

Just buy 15 meters of CAT 5 and save yourself some money.
Or look at re-routing (geddit?) things so you get full bar.

QOS balances bandwidth not limits it, if a connection is idle, QOS will use its bandwidth on your connection

Them powerline adapters usually are ok for light usage such as gaming, but once you get into something like streaming HD movies, or get proper download speeds or copy files between PC's, then you can forget them.

Oh and stay away from the Belkin so called "HD GIGABIT" ones, which are a pile of shit with a really misleading name.

Also, you should know that if the connected outlets are on separate circuits, then you won't be able to use the adapters. And the quality of the electric wiring impacts performance, and bla bla so many factors. Just get a really long ethernet cable and be done with it.

This was really a nightmare for me in my old apartment, now I can fully enjoy cat. 6 ethernet outlets all over my new one. It is BLISS!

They are a nice technology, but expensive. Just get a DECENT ethernet cable instead.
