So I recently changed from using picmip 0 and r_texturemode "default" (lets call this option 1) to back to what I was orginally using picmip 6 and r_texturemode "gl_nearest_mipmap_nearest" (option 2).
One thing I noticed was a huge different in how movement felt. With option 1, movement felt quick (in terms of strafing left/right). Changing back to my orginal settings (option 2) felt sluggish and slow. My dodging felt poor (but smoother..).
Why does changing these settings effect the feel of movement? I would assume it's just a visual effect and doesn't change actual movement in game.
Go try it yourself and tell me what you think.
