Everyone knows Quakelive is out of sync, rockets are not always registering, rails are going through opponents and this might come as some surprise, but packet loss in a videogame is not that uncommon. Even on LAN.

He wasn't the only one that had problems. I believe it was strenx that lagged out of the server right at the beginning of one of his matches. He reconnected, they just restarted the match (it was literally at the FIGHT!) and it seemed fine after that. But yeah there's been some quirks.

In general, this is part of the price you pay by hosting tournaments in such big events like cebit. It is easier to have IT problems rather than in smaller controlled environments.

Dahang said during the timeout that it was the 5th time the connection interrupted occured, so it definately had some part of his shitty performance. There's no way something like that doesn't affect a players focus. Let alone he lost with a shitload of frags on a defensive map like ztn.

ya cuz u know... going from the last 2 previous maps... losing by a few frags and winning hektik.. you know he just got seriously terrible that last map.... and the fact dahang beats rapha often..

it should have been replayed, but we don't know the "feel" of the situation over there at that moment.

scenario 1: dahang could have pressed pause right off the bat and state the problem, I am sure by now any admin could have spotted the lags if they waited long enough watching the monitor, but dahang had no way of knowing that and he prolly thought he would come off as some whiner if he brought it up.


scenario 2: dahang probably thought it was some minor fluctuation which would not repeat itself and decided not to pause, but then it started repeating in game randomly and this throwed his game off, it was already more then a min in the game so he was also undecided if he could restart the map or not according to rules. by then he had no other choice or mentality left to focus on the game. this is the scenario that probably happened.

either way it was not a game dahang had the ability to stay focused on(not many would considering its fucking lan...) and fair play would be to restart the match. of course this is up to rapha and/or the admins. I am not saying it was the wrong decision, I am just saying this would have been "fair play". it's obvious that dahang would never lose the game in such a way if he were actually concentrating on the game (which he obviously was not/could not do.) and nobody would have blamed the admins for restarting it (extreme rapha fan boys being the exception)

lastly, this case is only simple in my opinion because it happened all the way from the start. If it happened like 8 mins in.the game and everything was normal up to then (example: cooller vs strenx t4 game) then it would have been a hard situation to judge.

I was stood behind him and he lagged 7-8 times during the 3rd map. I am not sure if Rapha was lagging too, but at one point he can't of been as he was LG'ing Dahang as he was stood still lagging, albeit briefly and not intentionally

I have this 'lags' too since I can remember but I always thought that because I got rather old PC.Now it seems that it's not the matter so if anybody know how to fix please that let me know :P

I've been getting connect interrupts much like these pretty much every map I play for a little over 2 months now.. I always just assumed it was ghetto servers/bad routing/my isp but after seeing it happen on LAN on more than a few occasions I'm starting to think its actually a glitch in the game O_o
