nah it won't help at all, I've tried everything (diff hardware, diff mouse, diff monitor, diff net, diff OS, diff settings, reformated etc etc)
There are other people on here who have the same issue, but I'm afraid they won't be able to help you either :/

Not sure cumbucket has the same problem though, probably experiencing "standard" lag for some reason but he'd notice it pretty fast if his sens was skanking around.

Maybe and maybe not, I have a steady lagometer and a steady fps but I find describing the exact issue hard tbh. I could call it a sens bug (feels a bit like neg/pos accel kicking in randomly) but I could also describe it as a kind of "framelag" like this guy does (cos it kind of feels similar to FPS issues I may have in other game engines).

W/e it is, it's just ridiculously gay and I would enjoy QL sooooooooo much more without that kind of BS.

You still have mouse problems?? Have you tried lower mouse rate? I moved to 250hz since my 500/1000hz were quite unstable.

I don't even know if its mouse problem. I'm using 3.0 and I will try lower it to 250 hz

I had 1000 hz and I heard from a friend that high hz can damage your mouse. Is this correct?

Yeah I tried and it feels different but the problem is still there (tried a few mice + all the usb clock settings possible).

Random thoughts:

- restart pc
- try different browser
- restart router
- try different router

Whats your graphic card & monitor?
Use a program to monitor the graphic cards clock speed and temperature (both memory and core) while playing.
And ofc start a bot match to see if its your routers fault.

Apparently its not my router. As you said. I tried playing against bot but I'm still having this issue.

I'm using Rivatuner. My GFX is; GTX 260 and my monitor is BenQ 120 hz.

how do you know it's a 'framelag' if the fps stays at a stable 125fps?

how does your netgraph look? do you have the same problem when playing back demos?

Because it feels like I'm playing on a 10 hz monitor. I play some demos to see if its still there. One thing worth mentioning (dunno if I already said it) is that this can occur just suddenly in the middle of the game and stay there until game is closed.

i have weird lags that go on for hours too, but it's definitely the ql servers (or my connections) fault, not a fps issue on my side.

demos playback fine for me, that's why i was asking. sometimes it helps to actually ask the other players on the servers if they're experiencing the same thing.

try prism, firefox was causing some fps drops at times.

have you tried vertex light? I found this was a temporary fix for fps drops in some maps (asylum and quarantine)

My lagometer looks perfect when it happens (not even the slightest hint of red/yellow), and I've tried several completely diff ISPs (cable, ADSL, fiber) as well as servers from all countries. Doesn't happen at all in demos but happens vs bots as much as online.

I have really tried everything. This is truly very annoying. Maybe it is my USB ports that are damaged. If it would be cause of the servers I would just facepalm. Why couldn't they make a client for QL so we don't have to connect to their shitty servers...

You said it also occurs while playing bots, it shouldn't be caused by their servers or your network connection then. Assuming you took your pc with you when moving to sweden you should open it and make sure that the cooling system still works 100%. For some reason QL seems to acquire a lot of processing power even when running lowest ugly settings. Also you shouldn't rely on the ingame frames/s display. For me it showed steady 125fps while I had remarkable lags caused by a buggy bios on my ati graphic card. But it felt like fps jumped between 30-125fps. If some component (graphic card, maybe cpu) of your pc is overheating it usually clocks down and you may experience the same effect.
Why would any software or your cfg cause these problems if the pc worked perfectly before you moved to sweden?

Well.. I have 20% CPU usage when playing QL & 38% in WoW. No lag in WoW. I cleaned everything in my PC and still got lag :/

you guys ever compared your hardware setups and tried to come up with some sort of correlation? the thread about a certain intel mainboard and unstable usb hz made me think about that... i vaguely remember a similar problem with a specific setup during q3 times.

never found something that seemed to stick out when I discussed the problem with other guys, except parameters that make the bug stick out even more ( usually mid-low sens or low+accel )

Aye, I got low/mid sens and never felt anything wrong with the game back when I played with like 10cm/360 (about 1 year ago or something).

I actually believe that way more people suffer this bug but that most of them are either not as nerdy about their setup or simply use high to stupidly high sens and blame the difference on a shitty day.
I think Python is the only high sens player I've heard complaining about it.

It affects a pretty wide range of sensitivity's as i know others who have similiar sensitivities as me also find that they have the same problem.

Tried and tested multiple pc's (formatted etc), so its not hardware specific..although they were all intel's.

I never tried with any AMD CPU / GPU come to think of it...
But I really really doubt it would make any difference.

Don't transfer anything from account, like config etc. Just start fresh on a fresh account. My problem went away like that. I just kept making accounts until 1 was normal.

Give sponge/sync/other admins your name and account info and have them transfer your subscription to your new account. I believe they can do it for you. Explain the bug to them too.

Somehow I can still play and have fun as it doesn't seem to affect my aim or anything too much (maybe because I'm shit).

Don't spend money trying to fix it, the client has issues and that's, sadly, a fact.

i could also be your network card/adapter, i had one dying on me last week. buying a card gave me 1-2ms better pings but didn't help with the random lags at all :3

What polling rate you using for your mouse? If your on 125, try 250 or 500.

I found that 500hz polling rate with 85hz on my crt monitor was "jerky", just didnt feel smooth at all in comparison to other polling rates (125 was smoothest)

Does this occur/vary on different refresh rates? Same question for different resolutions as well.

Also, does it occur during slow mouse movements in particular? I've found my mouse movement feels more jerky/jittery now when moving the mouse slowly (which doesnt happen very often for me as I use accel).

Maybe they have changed something in the mouse input code?

When you have replicated the lags in a bot server, try just jumping/moving around the map without using the mouse and see if the lags are still there. If they remain, then its nothing to do with mouse input.

Something like mouse input would make sense, as this is ofc client side and is not influenced by the netcode (unless you have a really low fps, or are using that weird new mouseaccel style :S ).

The thing which get me is, Id has managed to make QL a surprisingly demanding game from an 11 year old engine :(

Have you checked with another monitor? The BenQ 120hz panel have had some complains with stuttering when using some kind of settings wrong for FPS games. Try to change the settings for the screen because there are a load of diffrent setups you can do from the OSD menu on the BenQ monitor. And if you arent playing in the native 1920x1080 resolution, change to it and test it out.
It can be that monitor has some delay for some frames if it's setup wrong.

set m_filter 1 and see if it helps..

i think it must be something with ur mouse or connection, because if u was a demo and it goes smooth means ur fps stays stable..

Well its your broadband mate.. just switch to fiber optic and you will be fine. DSL is old for gaming.

How come? It even happens when I play against bots. So either mainbord's USB ports got fucked or the QL servers/client.

Buy new pc or borrow friends laptop and test it.

nothing to with the connection, I get the same thing with wired, wireless, crap adsl, good adsl, cable, fiber etc etc ...
and diff routers and network cards don't change anything either

I get this on some TF2 servers. Feels like 15fps but it shows 400fps lol.

Game works fine on my brothers PC and his PC is even worse than mine. It has to be something wrong with my PC.

wasn't framelag or sens, was the connection going fubar in relation with his account ( and apparently massive friendlist iirc )

im not sure if this is what youre talking about but i used to get micro-stutters where everything was seemingly fine fps wise.

after a while i noticed there was a slight red mark shown on lagometer which made me think it was server related.

problem was gone after a break from quake and a new computer though. I know walter used to bitch with me about this problem and we both had similar ati/nvidia setups so we assumed it was that certain pc component combinations caused dumb shit to happen on qlive

hum, both the OP and I said we didn't have any red/yellow in the lagometer.

Red mark = packet loss (although the hardware can also cause freezes which may show as packet loss on the lagometer)
