its not toxjq's raw aim that makes his lg better than strenx's, its how he uses it in rushes/defensively, chooses to use it with perfect timing etc

Strenx, altough I don't like him, I must admit his Shaft ist probably the best I ever have seen from a Quake-Player.

Toxjq has a very good shaft, no discussion here, but it's not raw aim that makes it good but the way he uses it, he uses it only in situations where it clearly favours him to use LG, whereas strenx has simply insane aim with it, and since the situation is set with Plane Ground+Same Stack tox could not use the shaft in a advantage situation, so strenx wins because of pure aim.

Only my opinion, you may disagree, but I don't think you can convince me.

I disagree. For me it seems that when strenx is aiming he cares more about how much he's hitting than how much someone is hitting on him. I played few times with tox and situation there is different. I couldn't even do 20% lg vs him and mostly because of his dodging :<

However, cooller cant pull that shit on toxjq. Tox can dodge and still hit the same lg % as strenx so coollers dodging won't do shit as tox will be dodging coollers lg too and hitting him harder.

I made a journal ages back with slower down LG battles, and by far, the most impressive was Cooller control of the LG. Mainly because his epic dodging makes it not only hard for his enemy to hit him, but makes it harder for him to track the enemy... Yet he still manages it

Also rey is pretty good, but his playstyle is not all that effective in fast maps like hektik / aero / t4. There are many people who can become as good as rapha from NA but they miss that X factor, I guess its really hard what rapha did: keeping self motivation up and watching cooller demos with lot of analysis, while the NA q3 scene degraded and dwindled in 06-07 period, and develop a near perfect way of playing in middle of all that, one that will turn out to be almost impossible to beat in the quake revival era.

I asked strenx this yesterday and he told me he did have a shaft battle with tox a long time ago and he won some fights and tox won some fights.

i saw this battle long ago when toxjq was playing regular. It was 50/50 for sure. Just completely even. Toxjq dodged well but strenx can zoom him, so his dodges didnt do much but he did do enough damage against him aswell.

so that's 2:2 and one draw, with the highest difference being on ztn in favor of toxjq :)

I played ra3 for years and years and considered myself quite exceptional with lg truelightning 0 and all, but watching tox floored me every time. he was just way outside what everyone else was doing.

would be interesting to know what truevalue they each use. pure tracking aim (as with mg) is quite different. to fight a good dodger with lg is an art that requires minimum bullshit :D

probably use 1 or 0.9x. There's really no point in using anything else than 1 if your ping is decent ( the game won't register your " predicted " lg as it uses antilag ).

the server keeps snapshots of where players are up to theorically 80ms, when it receives a hitscan order it will simply go back in the snaps according to your ping, check if the other guy was there or not xx ms ago. If he was, it's a hit.

And basically, what they're saying is that the wobbly tl0 lg beam, which is not what is processed by the server when you're into the antilag boundaries ( tl 1 ffs ) is more accurate at a decent ping than.... something closer to what is processed by the server, and the other way around as your ping goes up. That's nonsense ( or they're suffering the hitbox leading/trailing stuff and that's another problem )

i'm well aware this might be nonsense. the people best at something usually have no idea how or why they are doing it etc. so theory>intuition, but i'm just wondering if this explanation *could* make sense?

I'm pretty sure the wobbliness is a visual effect that gets affected by ping, not ping alone.
Or maybe it doesn't get affected by ping at all and people just got used to something that worked with their pings back in the days of shitty netcode that can't process data correctly ( osp ), I wasn't really around back then.

Antilag cares about what you were aiming at xx ms ago, now there have been reports ( and I think I experienced it too but I might be placeboed ) of antilag/interpolation not working correctly below 30ish ms, there's also the good old hitbox leading or trailing problem that some people still have. If the model lags on your screen, I guess using a slightly wobbly lg might make you overcompensate what your aim should theorically be if everything was working fine, and actually makes you aim where the hitbox is supposed to be.

But tbh, ql is a bit of a mindfuck, I still don't understand how they managed to mix antilag and timenudge + make it work decently ( ping 110 tn -20 I still outlg people by aiming with my crosshair ).

Toxjq, because he knows when to be aggressive and when not to be aggressive irrespective of the weapon. He's got the element of surprise advantage over Strenx because of his experience and is an LG/Rail god.
