? the mmb is one of the more problematic parts of the wmo.

my advice would be to stay clear of razer product as from my experience they have overall the worst built quality. the only mouse that came close was the ms3.0, two of those broke within months for me.

the op should go and test as many mice as he can find in shop etc., apart from that: good luck :d

I've owned a ms3.0 since 2002. Still works perfectly.

Original 3.0 was decent for it's time, but the 2007 respawn is complete junk as far build quality goes.

The slim plastic encoder on all of the MS mice are prone to breaking within months of heavy use :\

I actually find the DA BE much better as far as quality goes, although I have to deal with another crappy encoder (not as bad as the 3.0) and design flaws that cause the bottom of the mouse to scrape the pad.

DA is from another store, don't worry :> The MX just wasn't available there when I wanted to buy it (was a bit desperate - my G7's battery holding mechanism finally broke :( ).

I can´t believe you are able to break stuff that isn´t Razer by normal use, especially not logitech. Either you are clicking EXTREMELY hard or there is something you are not telling us (Domestic mouse violence)

Haven't hit the mouse at all (in fact, I don't hit any of my tech stuff at all :>). As for extremely hard clicking - I click it with about the same force that I click my LMB with (a bit higher but the button itself is a bit harder to press). I do use it quite often tho (RTS screen drag, moving around in blender, browsing, whatnot)...

Aaand just noticed a typo in my 1st post - each mouse took about 6 months to break (the deathadder's one is still working but requires more force - quite troubling). I guess the logitech was better overall as I was doing lots of 3D stuff while using it (broke while doing this >.<)...

Well hnoestly the buttons on logitech mice, razer mice and most other gaming mice are actually the same. The switches are made by Omron most of the type. Buts thats usually for the left and right mouse buttons.

As for middle mouse, mx518, ie3.0 and deathadder are propably the best there is. MX518 and ie3.0 use long lasting mmb switches.

Logitech hyperwheel mice use other switches. They are harder to press and have a slightly shorter life span.

Well open up and see for yourself. Same switches, often times same sensors.

Only thing that separates a Razer mouse from an OEM mouse or a Logitech is the shape of the shell. Nothing else.

So the specs of the mouse are merely what the component suppliers give them. IE 90IPS, 8 million clicks and so on.

As far as I know, Logitech, from my experience, has one of the best customer support services ever: I shit you not, a friend of mine had a broken MX518 already 3 years in (which means no warranty anymore) and I had to convince him to contact the Logitech staff.

Long story short, he's still playing with his working shiny brand new MX (after sending the broken one) and those people you bought your mouse from are cheap douchebags who don't want to lose something like 30 euros.

I'm very curious now tho, why do they say it's your fault for it to break down so fast? I've owned several MX mice and that has never happened to me.
Unless you've stomped it or used as a hammer, there's no way it's your fault.

Go back to the store, and pretend it, if it's still in warranty.

I know about Logitech's support :) As for the shop - it was actually the firm they get their stuff from that denied the warranty. Interestingly enough I had no problem getting a new PSU from them after the last one started showing problems a month before the end of the warranty (not starting with a 5850 xcept on >cold< start, if the 4870 draws more than 55amps internally it shuts down, coil whine :>). Anyways, yes, it's still in warranty (the MX), but I'm not really in the mood for it :>
Will go tomorrow to return the DA, at least they check the stuff/replace it just about on site...

I had a mouse double click on a g9. I emailed Logitech, and some emails and attachments later i had a brand new g9x..

Yea I had an issue with one of their wireless keyboards. Also got a brand new one. Gotta love the service.

K, a little update..
Finally decided to open the mouse, it turns out that the plastic that held the wheel in place and pressed the mmb switch had broken in half. Only thing I'm wondering is why did Logitech make this part so fragile considering the overall solid build quality >.<. Here's a pic of the internals (not mine):
