Thanks but I'd like to gather more than one guy's experience with the two.
Having only one guy reporting this is hardly conclusive, as an example, some people reported the abyssus jitters on the QcK heavy and it has never been my case.
How could the LoD be the reason ? Besides I don't recall the abyssus having a high LoD. Well, haven't tried it on the talent.
Just for the record, my salmosa/db were both losing track on the QcK (at the same speed as the abyssus) but they don't on any other mousepad (tried the salmosa and the db on a corepad and the puretrak). I wouldn't be surprised if the abyssus was working just fine aswell on both of those mousepads.
to settle that argument once and for all: which versions (model no.) jitter and which don't?
this is my second abyssus and i haven't experienced constant jittering at all on my qck heavy, but the reason I returned my first one was that it started to jitter after about 3 months of use or so. Been using the current abyssus for 4 months and no problems so far.
Got an abyssus LoL edition today - doesn't jitter. Model number is the same though.
Seems to work very well on Puretrak talent (450dpi/1000hz) but I've only done some bot matches and a quick ca so far.
Bought it there (Germany only): http://preview.tinyurl.com/6herfud
i got the new (?) 3500 dpi version of abyssus (RZ01-0036) and it jitters like some dirty 2 euro mouse both on QCK and revoltec figtmat. Bought the golathus control pad and it works much better now... wasted money anyway cus i tested logi g700 few weeks ago and it feels 10x times better than the abyssus (well at least for me).
note to self: never buy mouse before actually testing it ingame :I
edit: look at this http://postimage.org/image/ylmiycqs/ <-- tried to slowly paint a straight line on 6 months old QCK... and no, I'm not delirious :)
plus as winz said it skips when u want to do a quick mouse flick
The Abyssus jitters pretty badly on my Talent. It's kind of workable by rotating it around until you find an angle where it stops, but that's a real hassle.
my old abyssus does jitter
more than on goliathus pads, but less than on pretty much any other clothpad
so IF people reporting that their fresh abyssus doesnt jitter on qck and other pads tell the truth there shouldnt be any problems
otherwise in my case it's quite noticeable
I didn't want to risk ordering an abyssus for nothing if it's not working on the talent (some people were saying it was jittering on the talent but it might have been with the older version) so I ordered a diamondback instead (old one, not the 3G, was very hard to find).
The talent is a great mousepad definitely but I'm not using it because I like to put my mousepad vertically and cover the edge of the table with it to protect my arm from the angle and if you do that, the talent isn't large enough.
It doesnt make a difference, you can feel it, you can see it, but it doesnt fuck up your Aim or something like that even in CS(or ET or Homefront etc.) you can still aim on the Head even with the fastest Flicks, and many great CS Players have used Mice with Prediction,so its basically down to what your used to, but in 10 Minutes your pretty much adapted to it.
