Been changing quite a bit but nowadays using these on 800x600:

Rockets, LG, MG - crosshair 3, size 38 (small)
Rail - small dot
Plasma shotgun - crosshair 3, slightly larger

Small-medium size open xhair (I think #3 at 28) for all. Or sometimes a small friggin dot (size 20) with black border via a custom xhair for all. Anything more than those two I find is annoying for me. I don't like xhair #2 because I don't use xhair names for enemies, so at some distances the xhair itself would block the view, why I like the open xhair. This at 1600x1200.

I'm running 800x600, I use:

crosshair 2 / size 28 / yellow / hitcolor red / all

Until recently I used crosshair 8 for everything.

Now I'm using crosshair 8 for rail and rl, 13 for lightning gun and machine gun, 14 for chain since you basically just aim in the general direction, crosshair 15 for grenade launcher, and 16 for plasma only because this crosshair looks really cool. No crosshair for gauntlet, which makes it more fun.

Crosshaircolor 15 (blue), and crosshairhitstyle 1. When I use mg or lg my crosshair doesn't flash constantly, since the 1-25 damage color is also 15. Plus I like blue.

I have played QL for about 3 years now and I have done surprisingly well! I have beaten visje on Duel which I thought was amazing and I have played on IEM world championships and came 13th!

But what i am trying to get through to you is that my LG, RAIL and ROCKET LAUNCHER are good at times but another day its crap! I think its up to the crosshairs.

Please tell me which ones to use for differant weapons

Why do you have to over-complicate it?

i use + for crosshair with all weapons with 75 size with all weapons, sometimes i need smaller size for rail but haven't gotten around changing size for rail only

size matters

also size depends on screen resolution

2 for mg, lg, rg, rl, gl
same with custom circle so it's like 7 but hitcolor only for the inner cross for everything else
red hitcolor only for mg, lg, pg, rest is constant yellow
size 46 for r_mode 5, 43 for 9 (depends on mood)
currently.

ive also used linkins/cyphers custom cross, drawcross 13 size 36 and drawcross 19 with different hitstyles

Crosshair 7 size 55 for everything except rail, crosshair 4 size 55 for rail. r_mode 9

I use crosshair 2 for, LG, MG, PG and CG, and crosshair 9 for everything else. Both using crosshairsize 48 @ 1680x1050. The crosshair is quite big, used to use a much smaller one, but liking this bigger size.

used to use the cross but sometimes the xhair would overlap the enemy at long distances, especially if i was using a size >40
