Different grip might be the reason. I used to palm grip when I played cs and it took me a while to get used to the claw grip. Some people can't aim with claw and others with palm.
It could be also the weight as abyssus is pretty light.
A mouse doesn't influence your lg as long as you are comfortable with it and it doesn't jitter, pos/neg accel.

My lg was better with the abyssus, but the difference was minute.

Use two mice

yep, bind /timeout on your rail/lg weapon switch buttons and always change mouse during that time, has worked succesfully with me since i had the same problem with ikari/1.1a

maybe the sensor positioning or the relative sensor positioning to how the shape forces u to hold the mouse.

keep in mind your mx300 had a tiny DPI count. (I don't remember what it is off the top of my head, but it's lower than 400dpi I'm fairly sure)

Now, the last time I made some assertion about the mx300 I was completely wrong (I didn't think it had prediction) so take my point with a grain of salt. But at first guess I would simply say it's an issue of the higher sensitivity that comes from higher DPI mouses.

MX300 is 800DPI

400 according to threads created by people who couldn't understand wtf it was marketed as 800dpi.

Fair enough, I was sure that it was no way under 400, all google results show 800.

it's very noticably lower than my ie3.0, which at the time I assumed was 400dpi. I've later learned it's more likely 450dpi, but I wouldn't think I'd notice such a difference from 400-450

all my ms mice (two wmos, two imos and two imes) have 430 dpi.

It is 800dpi, but defaults to 400dpi. A signal must be sent over USB to activate 800dpi. It is limited by max size on the direction in the signalling path for the movement axis' as it only has 8 bits per axis. At 125hz USB connection it has a maximum of aprox 1m/s with 400dpi and aprox 0.5m/s with 800dpi. If overclocked to 500hz then the theoretical seped limit increases to aprox 2m/s with 800 dpi.

It will take a couple weeks of consistent playing to get used to it.

When I was using the Abyssus (switched from a WMO..but I'm back on the WMO now) I had the same situation. My rail felt really good but my lg was terrible. It took 3-4 weeks before my lg started getting back to "normal."


Just like anything there is an adjustment period!

Why did you switch back to the wmo? I'm interested because when i went from the wmo to the abyssus i felt like the abyssus was a better version of the wmo.

was easier to the find the "perfect" sensitivitywith the WMO...sens5 accel 0.1 never fails with it.

I'm tempted to go back the Abyssus cause the only things I dislike about the WMO:
-Shape (Abyssus' shape is great)
-Mouse cord (WMO cord is so stiff)
-Annoying to switch to 500hz on w7.

My aim has been pretty good lately..so I'm trying to convince myself to not switch back to the Abyssus at the moment...

Overall, the only mice I would use these days is either the Abyssus or WMO...

Im currently in love with my abyssus, used ie 3.0 before, and i really like sensor and responsive buttons, also over the time i bought my ms mouse till now i switched my grip from palm to claw, for which this mouse is designed in my opinion <3

Anyway : it may be caused by shape of this mouse, cause its really different from logitech and m$ ones, when ure using lg you need to track your opponent what requires a lot of precission, and even the smallest things may cause the fact that its screwed, like u cant lay your little finger as you used before, etc ; personally my shaft acc after setting up sens jumped like with 2-3%, so it feels quite good, but i keep in mind that it could be just my luck, razer mice got always really different shape comparing to other companys, which on paper is quite ergonomic, but because of all the edges and stuff some people might have a hard time switching to it especially if they used one mouse for really long period of time.
You might not feel it when you are using other weapons/moving around, but it can cause a trouble when you want to hit 40++% lg ;)

Also another clue might be the fact, that you can feel like you are hitting good rails and rockets with reallly good comfort with moving around, but the sensitivity can be slightly too high for hit a decent shaft for your hand, because of required precission, I spent like 4-5 hours on ffa @ dm6 with nightmare bots on warmup mode shafting and railing till I found my optimal setting, sometimes i was hitting 50% shaft constant with crap rail and moving sense, another one table was completely turned :)

Do use low sensitivity by any chance? I had to up my sensitivity when I changed from my wmo 1.1a to my salmosa (same shape basically). If you use low sens try raising it.

if you come from a wmo that happens because ths sides of the abyssus are smaller. Just get used to it by holding your thumb a bit higher than you used to..

ikari optical buttons r more responsive + lg rape.

I bought an Abyssus after my mx518 died recently and tbh my shaft has gotten better.
My rockets did suffer for a bit but after holding both mice I noticed it's cause the sides are really tiny.
Try to get used to it because in the end it is a wonderful mouse.

This happens because you are used to Logitech. Is damn hard to switch from Logitech to another brand of mouse.

Just let go of the Logitech mice and keep on using the other one. In time your shaft will become better.

I've noticed this since I replaced my MX518 with Deathadder yesterday. I hope I can get used to this different grip.

maybe the abysuss has less pointer prediction which means you are used to prediction

^ this. And it sounds like the guy is just experiencing the pro and cons of high dpi.
btw,

logitech m90 = no prediction (1000dpi)
logitech m100 = prediction (just like the mx300 but 1000dpi)

i got a m90 myself- and yes, as someone mentioned before the buttons are harder to press. And it needs the right mousepad. Still a good product if u compare it to the rx250, which can't even be overclocked (not to mention the slower movement in the Y axis)

so to anyone that has an abyssus if you set it to 400 dpi/2 sens or 800/1 sens ql and do a slow turn 360 and after that the fastest jank to back to the original point how much negaccel does it have? im thinkin qck and plain cloath mats

TLDR: there's one faulty version of abyssus out there, as you can't upgrade a firmware on abyssi it's a gamble which one you get

but even the faulty one works 98% of the time on a Goliathus Speed
