Whenever I think on the things I've written, I begin hating them and myself. There's no end to these thoughts. Is any sentence ever perfect? How do I transition between sentences? Sometimes I come up with interesting things, such as "trace thought," or at least they seem appealing in some moment to me, momentarily satisfying my deep-felt desire for peace from my own personal pedantry, but most things deeply disturb me; if thought of too greatly, they affect me to my very core.



embellishing a little bit and giving some ideas. does it matter? writing is about efficiency of ideas, not the beauty in which they're embedded. who's judging you on these things other than yourself? well, I probably am, but so what? if I understand you well enough to come onto your experience of thoughts, that's good enough. unfortunately, you're usually pretty hard to empathize with, as you seem to meander significantly. writing is an experiment, though. you can keep messing with these words until you see some deep harmony in them, and I guess that's what an artistic approach is all about.

it's pretty fun when you reach some point of familiarity in whatever language you're most comfortable, whereby you can just prattle on endlessly without too much concern for the rhythm of your words. everything I write flies off the top of my head nearly as fast as I can type, which is rather swift. being able to do something like that makes it challenging to organize the things you've written, because I'll come back to stare at five pages of stuff on my screen, but it's a cool ability to be able to get thoughts out that way to begin with.

The interesting parts to me are what happens when I force the expression with some conscious intention.

Aside from casual expression, there is a deliberate way of communicating to oneself and others.

In me this tends to show itself either as poetic (I should say phonetic) or as philosophical, with only the casual unconscious expression in between.

When I think and write philosophically, I only need to structure my own thoughts on paper, and that's it. When I write phonetically (and I rarely do anyway) I only need to taste each chunk of a sentence. In these I can just measure my progress by holding the elements and their harmony in my mind.

This doesn't work with narration. Narration has a structure that is not immediately relatable back to me as subject. It needs a kind of structural illusion to bring another into a particular state of mind. This is like being able to tell stories and jokes, which i'm horrible at :D
