As im very happy with mine for over a month(not once switched back to my DA), while i thought i never find a mouse who fits me better than my Deathadder, i wanted to build some more(4 from bulk Kinzu, 1 from retail Kinzu).

-Deathadder 3G (1800DPI) main-PCB with IR-LED
-Omron D2F-01FL switches for mainbuttons which are more responsive than the original TTC-switches and have a shorter travel until they activate the click

No thumbbutton, but as i wrote, u can bind the actuall DPI change button to what u want.

It does.

The 10 pins on the old PCB are still intact.
By that I mean you can remove the cable and ten shiny, golden pins still there.

But on the new PCB, you have to break off the cable to the ten pins, leaving ten ultra tiny holes that are filled with a combo of solder and wire.

I don't know what the 3G PCB looks like, but one of the DA PCBs is very different to the ones I have here, which are 3.5Gs.

ye, its the same with da 3g rev.3, but still its not that big problem to get those holes free(only pin 10 makes probs, dunno why)

u gotta cut that flatcable further away from the pcb, then splice it, and u can easily pull it out while u heaten up from the other side(3rd hand is a must for solderin imho).

Abyssus PCB is not so suited for modding.
You had to cut off the front part where the buttons sit, and then u still have to find a way where u can solder the kinzubuttons to, as there aren't holes for each button like on the DA PCB.

Actually you can fit abyssus pcb to any other mouse such as Xai because Abyssus Pcb will fit in perfectly. It just wont fit in Kinzu because PCB will be too big for the mouse.

Yes scroll needs to be compatible otherwise its scroll will not work and you need to desolder all buttons and scroll from Abyssus and just make connection with the mouse you want to modify.

i had even two for myself, and i still got my working DA. :P
I also have 3 fucked up PCB's laying around too.
One of them has a destroyed sensorchip(my fault :P), so just for curiosity, i tried to make it work again with a 3.5G sensorchip taken from my broken abyssus.
It doesn't work, because i can't flash the firmware tho(still it's recognised as a DA but it says FW.1.0)

lol some things has to learn by destroying lots of things.
The only trouble I find is desolding everything perfectly to take the chip/ switch or scroll mechanisam out of pcb without destroying it.
I don't have helping hands probably that's why. I might get some later. I had enough modding too. Dont want to mess all my mice up atm. :P

The profit is not remarkable.
I think u couldn't even find a chinese to build them at that price :P

I wrote up the time for the one im building atm(worked concentrated and fast): already 4:15h and i still need to solder in buttons, prepare the cable, glue something, cut the uppershell, finetune the buttons and testing it a good amount of time.

If i took only cheap 5€ per hour, it would be unaffordable.

If you make it with a 3.5G sensor or other sensor that decently supports 2500dpi I probably would buy it.

It's not that I don't like 3G sensor, not at all (actually my Abyssus has 3G sensor and I'm loving it); it's just because I use high sensitivities and I need 2500dpi in order to play in high screen-resolutions.

there are three dpi settings (predefined and not changeable dpi profiles) on the bottom of the abyssus: 450, 1800 and 3500 dpi.

Yes, I meant at least ~~2500dpi~~ 3000dpi, but the ideal would be exactly ~~2500dpi~~ 3000dpi (I've made a mistake, actually I'll need 3000dpi!)

To explain further more, currently I'm very confortably playing with 1600dpi at 1024px screen-resolution. In july I will make an upgrade (video card, power supply, monitor, mouse) and I will start playing in full HD (1920px). Thus, 3000dpi would be the optimal setting. I'm ok with playing with more dpi (then downscaling in software). But I'm definetly not ok with playing with less dpi plus high software-upscaling.

ischju, in RTS you get handicaped if you play with low resolutions (lesser FOV), it's not "noob" thing to play in high resolutions. In CS I'm playing with 1600dpi at 1024px too, and honestly I don't give a fuck how pro-players play, I'm very sure about the way I like to play and I won't change that.

Its usually best to run an LCD at its native resolution.

If I try to run my 1080p monitor at anything under that, I get bad input/frame lag.

Yeah, there are various 'hacks' you can use to get other resolutions to work better. But why bother? I prefer higher def. I see no reason to use lower res., if your PC can produce enough frames.

My aim has improved by going from 1024*768 to 1920*1080.
I simply see the enemy better at distance at higher res.
And that's even when adding the few extra ms I get in input lag contra the CRT I used to use.

in quake terms to need 2500dpi even with x1080 you'd have to have a setup with a sens over 30 (in 400dpi terms or below 3.4cm/360°). to me that sounds slightly unreasonable.

Yeah, for FPS that sensitivity does sounds unreasonable. Still, I use that sens to play CS too :)

I'm very used to it, for more than a decade. And my grip style (fingertip) just fits very well this type of sens (and vice-versa).

I don't think there is somehting like a "dream mouse" for me hehe. There is always something.

The KinzuAdder for instance, while done perfectly by thunda (really really really flawless mod, everyone whos interested should get one as long as he has some for sale!), relies on drivers. That may be a very small "problem", if any at all, but still - we're talking perfection here. And for me a mouse should work with just the default windows driver and still deliver.

Well, you really picky about mice - really remind me myself.
I also bought this mouse (not yet arrive to me) but I 100% sure that Thunda is know what he is doing :)
but the downfall for me is the shape of the Kinzu, the Right-side of the mouse is kinda unnatural for my ring and pinky.

But, we acutally need to stop be perferctiozists. ;)

Also, Skylit's project mouse...AFAIK him, it will be great-perfect mouse, since he is picky like most of us. ;)

Yeppers, using the KA atm. DA drivers can be ignored, the bad cable of the Spawn cannot :)

Looking forward to the Valor now. Might end up using a Valor/KA combo depending on the type of game. KA isnt that comfortable for long playing sessions.

Nop its not comfy TBH. I would rather have Xaiadder which I can make myself but I CBA breaking KA and make another mod because my 3g DA has low lod so it might not work with Xai because of lens positon in Xai.
It needs lots of patience too and atm I don't have any :P

I find it quite comfortable, and can play as long as i want with it(having about 3h ingametime a day) without getting pain in the hand or fingers.
But i agree that the right side could be a bit wider.
Maybe u can put tennis-racket tape to it to make it thicker there.

Spawn's Cable Case - you can try Mouse Bungee, I'm use it in everymouse I've got..I cant stand the newer cables - they really annoying me, and the mouse bungee make it feels like wireless and even the weight is quite reduce.

the steelseries cordholder is quite good IMO, but is the same as putting some books on the cable, But stylish. ;)

No that doesn't work for me. I'm used to play with more than 30cm (no accel) and you just can't do that with a mouse bungee. In order to be able to move the mouse around freely, I'd have to pull out the cable so much, that it would be dragged down by its own weight again.

However, I'm having one issue that's stopping it being my perfect mouse, that is the mouse randomly skips around my screen sometimes (like a few times a day). I'm assuming it's because of my pad (I use QCK heavy) as I've heard that the DA has some issues with SS pads. Has anyone else experienced this bug with the DA 3G (or KinzuAdder)? And does anyone know for sure what pads work with it that are similar to the QCK heavy?

Basically I'll just be using my mouse normally (not swiping really fast or anything) and I'll just lose control of it and the cursor will go crazy and move all over the screen. And it seems like the only way to fix it is lifting my mouse up and wiping my pad with my hand (but there's never anything noticeable on my pad that could cause it). I can replicate the problem by just putting my finger over the sensor, while my finger is over the sensor the cursor will just move around all over the place kind of the same way, is that supposed to happen?

I removed the tape & it still skips around when I put my finger over it, so I don't think that's what's causing it. I don't see any dirt inside either so I dunno.

edit: one last thing you could try: change a profile in the razerdriver.

I changed profile and it still does it, but it only does it when my finger is hovering over the sensor like 1-2mm away now. I'll keep using it like this and if it bothers me a lot over the next couple of days I'll send it back to you I guess. It's not a huge problem cause it usually only does it like once or twice a day for like 10 seconds each, I don't really want you to waste a PCB over it tbh, it's just kind of annoying.

Yeah, I guess I will send you it back. It's actually a lot more annoying now since I installed Razer drivers/removed the tape, every time I lift my mouse to reposition it skips. Makes it impossible to play with low sens.

If you are a low sensitivity user, you would better off in sticking with a taped KinzuAdder than a KinzuSpawn regardless.

The Spawn exhibits negative acceleration at high speeds (>2 m/s, although some have reported negative acceleration at even lower speeds).

no, TTC switches were originally in the kinzu so SS did that.
Razer uses omron(different ones than those i put in tho)
The Xai uses the same omrons as Razer use.
