edit: asus / benq / acer / lg released "16:9 1080p 120z" monitors, they're all good but more expensive than the older 16:10 samsung.

I'd followed alot of the 120hz monitor threads, and it just seemed like most people said to get the 2233rz, but I didn't really want to get a refurbished one.

The Viewsonic VX2268WM is a good alternative. It's really cheap right now on Amazon at $230.

The 2233rz is also on Amazon by a different seller.

I own an Asus VG236HE and it is a phenomenal monitor... Still pretty expensive though... $350 on newegg+free shipping...

no, it depends on what screensize you want and what resolution too, the samsung does not do full hd (and has no hdmi input, if that concerns you). read more! :S

Dont buy acer plz buzzing noise/ breaking screen in half / heavy (doest matter i know :P) too.
Get LED technology one with 120 hz you will be fine.

I own the 1st 120hz Acer and I have none of those issues. This 2nd one is a LED one as well. So yea I'd definitely get an Acer again given my personal experience with them.

I've got the Acer GD245HQ and it features a very annoying buzzing noise at 120 Hz.

I run it at 60 Hz.

weird, I never had that. Have you turned off overdrive from the service menu?

Yes I have OD off and it still makes buzzing noise.
It depends on certain wallpapers. I have tested few wallpapers to reduce that buzzing noise so I can keep 120hz.

I dont have 3d vision yet but I have breaking in 2d couple of times on MY Acer GD245HQ

Other problem is it takes 5 - 6 seconds to come back on if your monitor is on auto turn off or you manually turned off by pressing button.

I also have acer 22" 60hz with none of the problem above. But they do have problem with 120hz.

also, I had a VX2268WM and it took about 10-12 good punches before it broke. they're solid. get one.

benq are the fastest, way more responsive (2x more) that 2233rz and other craps.

Have used a 2233hz for 1-2 years now, back to CRT for me.
Better colors, no blurring when moving around etc.

i've recently bought lg w2363d and i don't think i will be going back to crt

I have 2233rz. It's good and runs 120hz at all resolutions. It was easy to get used to after crt but I would go back to crt if I could find a good one to buy. I have a 24inch Sony trinitron wide screen 160hz crt but its a little old n dicky although it does work. I'd sell my 2233 if I could find a good 21inch crt
