Sry guy but I don't really rage when I play, at least not enough to start hitting things. I do get stuck in the cords a lot though and pull the mouse down that way.
how is the lod of the da 3g? i heard that they have fixed the jittering issue with the 3.5g sensor. how about its lod though? also i read somewhere that the black edition's rubber coating is not that good.
If the 3G is the old one with the thin wire cable then that by far. Haven't used the 3.5G or BE but from what I hear from people it's just faults or shit. If you can get ahold of a 3G that's the best one (I reckon anyway)
I have a 3.5g which I bought 2 months ago. I updated to the latest firmware and I added a piece of tape to the bottom of the sensor. Sensor tracks perfectly on multiple surfaces and lift off is 1cd. (A few mm).
At 450dpi with 1000hz, it is the best mouse I have used.
The only thing that in my experience would beat it would be an abyssus with the same sensor (Which ironically it has - yet it doesn't work properly)
Optical/laser mice work by having a diode shine light on the surface to iluminate it, so that the camera in the sensor can read the details on the surface. Less light will lead to less detail. By reducing the light you will eventually get too little detail for the sensor to register changes in the mouse position. Lifting up a mouse causes the light from the sensor to be reduced in intensity on the surface and blocking off some of the light with tape further reduces the light strength. Drawback is that you might reduce the sensors capability when it comes to reading the surface in normal use.
For the sensor itself it will most likely lower SQUAL (number of valid features/pixels the sensor can work with in the current frame), lifting the mouse results earlier in a low enough SQUAL that isn't high enough to have tracking.
I guess Dharmapoint LOD adjustments on some of their mice works in a similar way.
there's one da 3g mac edition lying around in the nearby shop. still undecided whether to get da 3g or 3.5g but i think i won't be fancying the braided cable of da 3.5g that much. i heard that it can collect dust.
There Isn't really better anymore in performances wise.
If you like more flexible cord I'd say get the 3g, the 3.5g is also great compered to the Xai's Cable and just attract to it "Steelseries Grip" on the sides.
The BE offers the same shape, feets and all but rubber sides, which 3g and 3.5g dont have.
Also, dont remember to get for yourself a blurry-tape and attract it to the sensor hole.
Sigh, just search the forums, I cant be assed just cause you are lazy. And more than the specific threads on the 3.5g, da theres also on the abyssus which has the same sensor.
