the only complaint i had of the xai is that it was far too heavy (for a mouse, at least). great grip, great shape, didnt even notice the pos/neg accel

wmo is a great mouse, as long as you get replacement feet for it.

WMO doesn't really feel cheap at all, only people who say that are people who wasted $80 on a "gaming" mouse and are trying to justify it by hating on the superior WMO.

Look at it this way, a WMO costs pocket change, even if you don't like it you're only out a few bucks(assuming you don't have to ship one across the Earth). Not so easy with the Xai.

Xai weight as much as the explorer 3.0 and their shape is similar, by the way. I've seen people complain about the Xai weight a lot, yet the same people praise the explorer 3.0. I own both of these mice and I weighted them on a digital scale, without the cord.

WMO is cheap, so just buy one. If you don't like it, then buy a Xai.

I used a Xai for a while but the dust bug really was grinding on me and I got annoyed with how heavy it was. Switched back to WMO and prefer it a ton more. Can't hurt to buy a WMO and try it... They're less then a pint of beer

Hard to beat the WMO. It's like gaming... there are plenty of new games with high-tech graphics, but Mike Tyson's Punch Out is still better than most.

WMO is like a stripped out racer version of the xai, theres not a big difference really (I've owned both). The xai just has more features which you'll never really use, ie you would set them to be the same as the wmo anyway...

I used the G9x once (which uses the same sensor as the Xai) and the tracking is incomparable to that of the IME 3.0 (which has the same sensor as the WMO).

The G9x felt somewhat delayed by a fraction of a second (which was noticeable to me). At the same settings, the IME felt so much more responsive.

It looks like someone is falling for the placebo effect, and/or confirmation bias.

I'm quite sure G9x has a 1000Hz polling rate, and I'm quite sure that most human beings can't detect most changes under 4ms.

Most changes made by changing from 125Hz to 1000Hz is probably noticeable due to other factors e.g. the response time at 125Hz wasn't actually 8ms and was like 25ms.

Saying IME3.0 is more responsive is misleading and most probably false. You should make more objective observations, instead of observations based upon perspective and subjective grounds.

I was all set to ditch the 3.0 for the G9x until I felt that there was something wrong with the G9x. I used the SAME settings (450 dpi, 500hz, 6/11) and did a A-B comparison and to me, the IME 3.0 was more responsive, simple as that.

I have owned BOTH mice, tested BOTH at the SAME time.

sensor position ? it's more in the front on the IE 3.0, so it will amplify small movements

I had exactly the same decision to make some time ago. Got wmo and I don't regret it. It doesn't feel cheap at all (after all it's high quality desktop mouse). I love the plastic it's made of and the buttons are very soft and quick to react. But for me the best thing about this mouse is its weight. I didn't realise how important it is for low sens gaming, but it feels more precise than my previous mouse even with standard feet. I had 7 year old g5, it was great for high sens game i used to play (jk2, ~4cm/360), but with 20cm/360 no accel wmo is better mouse in every aspect (including grip)

Sensor is great, but negative acceleration was noticable for me at first (only when i was doing muscle-memorized 180 turns etc. I've overclocked usb) but now I got used to it and don't notice it anymore. Maybe my g5 had positive accel?

I haven't tried xai, but I don't think that I would consider any heavier mouse to be better than wmo

Defects in the wmo:

The cord sucks,
No side buttons (yeah I need them)
Scroll Wheel can have issues (I assume it is the same wheel as the IMO 1.1? or am I wrong here?)
Will not do 500hz unless you use old OS or allow unsigned drivers in 64 bit os's (some don't consider this a problem)
Low DPI (again not everyone considers this a problem)

Defects in the xai:

Slight acceleration
Heavier Weight
Buttons require more pressure (some consider this a plus)
Right/Left side buttons can be bumped by pinky (depending upon which handed you are)
Price

This one is a tough call if it comes down to cost and you can live without the extra buttons get the WMO. I tend to agree with the folks saying buy the WMO and if that doesn't work out, you are not out too much cash...

wmo easy. xai is too fucking low and harder to control, way heavier not to mention weight center being at the back of the mouse because of the stupid lcd and whatnot.
