If you hadn't heard, there has been a HUGE advertising campaign for the "rapture" that was supposed to have happened on May 21st. It was started by a man named Harold Camping with familyradio, and this is his second rapture prediction - the last one was 1994. He believes that he found hints in the bible to the date, and merely made a miscalculation in 1994.

This guy spent $140,000 of his own money on ads for familyradio and may 21st. This is his reaction right at 6PM.

Harold Camping has since disappeared, and the familyradio site is down. His followers donated more than $100 million towards advertising this event world-wide. Many of them have spent all of their savings, quit their jobs/college/etc, and completely ruined their lives.
