Seems like the ESL are big offenders, ironic seeing as they try to portray themselves as being proffesional. If you run a competition with prizes, you've commited to pay the winners regardless of whether the sponsor pays up or not.

i vaguely remember that you are not allowed to talk about prize money when entering esl and shit - that way they try to reduce bad publicity (but someone correct me if im wrong)

ESL is the biggest joke ever. Messiest, useless site. They are very firm with the rules (no offense to xou, or other ESL admins), and they never pay... That's how professional they are.

as i remeber i recieved few times money from ESH.

Me and dunpeal from turkey nagged our local ESL admin for a month or so and we received our hardware (i7'S) after like... a total of 2 months. I consider this ok considering the standards.

Funny story: I attended cpl winter and while i was there, a chubby admin with long hair (which i later learned to be Chris Moncivalles) noticed my dreamtheater tshirt I was wearing at the time and said he would help me out as "he loved dreamtheater!" to speed things up if I won some price money, which he really did after I was entitled for a bit of money. Emailed him, he send me the forms which I sent back, received my price money like 3 months after (which is probably awesome considering cpl standards)

Haha. Thanks for the kind words, except the "chubby admin" part. I guess. I did something about that so that hopefully when people see me now, that's not how they remember me. :)

Aside from my love of Dream Theater, I was glad to help out anyone and was glad to see that for once, someone remembers me for doing something good, rather than just being associated with all the bad that went down.

mm they have told me that the IEM 5 money will come later then usual, but I now have some doubts that I will see the money at all. Not that it bothers me forking out money from my own pocket to travel to their event which is a 30 hour flight or anything :/

We have unfortunately not started paying out the IEM4 European Championship prizes. I am sorry for the delay, but please don't be worried, you will receive your money in full, just a bit later.
I haven't talked to our finances department since I returned to work, but I hope this will happen before the year is over.
