When you mention Outer Limits, don't forget The Twilight Zone !

There's three of them (1960s (or 50s?), 1980s and 2000'ish)

I find 90-00 Outer Limits to be the most accessible gateway show to other scifi shows, thats why i usually bring it up first. While original Twilight Zone is an epic classic with a lot of cult episodes (often written by scifi masterminds and pioneers), imo the 80-90's zone is kind of gay in my books. Maybe I watched wrong episodes, but in overall it felt "cheap", the writing was lazy and direction boring.

Epic-story-of-the-week-scifi was also attempted to revive with series "masters of science fiction", but it fell short for whatever reason - 6 episodes or so afaik, but watchable.
