That's what I was gonna say, with a funny anecdote. I've got a friend from Malmö, he has lived there his entire life. He's been robbed twice, on two separate weekend trips to London.

best thing about going to malmo from copenhagen is that the dentist is cheaper there. so ye go see the dentist or just stay in copenhagen

haha but seriously i only ever go over to malmo for concerts or the dentist (: if it's your first time in copenhagen try taking a boat tour around the city - much nicer way to see things.
theres also a boat rental place outside Fisketorvet shopping centre (next to dybbølsbro station) where you can rent and drive the boat yourself (need a drivers licence) - i would recommend that unless you don't wanna drive a boat but why the fuck would you not want to drive a boat? also go up the christianshavn tower and check out christiania while your there.

make sure u get a ristet pølse from the hot dog vans and check out kødbyen, sankt hans torv or gothersgade in the evening. if you like architecture head down to ørestad and check out some of the buildings down there plus the castles and churches around town.

ye and if the weather is good you can always go to amager beach but if you're going away for a weekend i guess you don't wanna go to the beach.

oh and try to get hold of some city bikes - fuck buses

Living in malmö, not much to see actually. Babel and debaser are nice clubs. Copenhagen is probably alot nicer. Muggings are a problem but dont run around town alone late at night and its no problem.( had 3 attempts on me when I was younger).
