yup, ql ctf is crap because the maps are either bad or extremely old, some were modified by id to get from good to high class meh (w2 is just shit now) and with the random netcode escaping with the flag is a bit like a lottery

I'm more or less a new player. I won't cry if I get the chance to play better players. I never cried about facing a pro in duel/ca/tdmpickup. Fuck I once played an obvious cheater (daddy05) and I didn't give a flying fuck. I got mad for a split sec and insulted him and then moved on :o.

He has a whole clan of people (clan feast) that are basically mimicking his actions.

Second there is shuffle and I don't really care whether I win in ca or not.

I improved the most when I played better people. I got crushed by some pros and I learned a lot. Played a second and third game against them and the score gap got closer. I wouldn't mind if I had to play only semi pros from now on.

incubus has a lot of followers that mimick his actions (r3zurrector, lordwoods, mrgreen_, adrenal1ne, sabertooth, kujoe, s7e, candyass, av8r, lollercopter, avenged, everybodypoops, etc etc etc etc). It has helped destroy the ctf na scene. A scene that once took part at quakecon in 2009, now not so much... now some of those very people are stuck playing tdm. Why should I care? I got a few buddies I can play with and as long as they play I will too. Tdmpickup is running better than ever and lately I even played 2v2 tdm on public servers at 2 am.
Ql isn't dying in europe ;)

This game is not just based on duel man. If the other gamemodes shut down activity wise, duel wont' exist any more. Do you not get that? You're playing this game because of the snoozefest happening in ca. Not because of duel. Quake live won't die if duel dies. If ca dies however... (because the majority of players in ql play ca, NOT DUEL!!)

Not caring about ctf in NA is like not caring about your neighbors house being on fire.

That is me and this is my only active account. I used a different one when I started with ql last year. I just created a new one because I wanted that nick and I didn't knew that you could change it.
Even my old account had 26% acc though I had no experience with 1v1 fps. But I don't think that 30% is anything special. At least with the current hitboxes.
I even had a break for several months as I got only umts internet for several months.

Yeah but I was a noob? Take a look at how many duels I had with my old account and then I played only duels with the new account in the beginning.

I'm playing ql active for a bit more than half a year. I started to play last summer had a break because I moved to vienna without having internet for the 2-3 months. Then I got the crappiest provider ever (upc) and wasn't able to play for almost another 3-4 months. I warped in my first two bundesliga games and had to take timeouts. I even wanted to quit as playing lag free between 18-24 a clock was almost impossible.
So I don't know what the fuck you want? Where did I lie?
In the beginning I was so really bad. Couldn't time a single item, dodging was a burrowed word and my rocket aim was just lolz. Not really my fault that I improved quite quickly but that doesn't make me a good duel player. We might have a different understanding about good. Good duel players for me are twister and dksl.
The thing is you see my acc and compare me to walter :D. That tells me that you have no fucking clue about duel. Cypher only has 29% what a fucking scrub ...

If there was such a thing as autobalance and/or if the community actually did something to combat stacking than this wouldn't be so much of an issue but now we have 7 things going against us.

1) new players put in tier 3
2) tier 4 players making alt accounts to slum lower tiers
3) tier 4 players able to play down
4) tier 2-3 players able to play up
5) ctf games can start 4v2 or worse
6) tierslummers and stackers are revered and idolized
7) people have the ability to make an unlimited amount of alt accounts.

That's what you can do fattywhale. Attacking me won't stop the 7 things above dissapear. I'm just the messenger. I'm not here on esr bitter over some stupid fucking modship on the ql forum as syncerror might have you think. I already told you guys why i was banned, because i caught him harboring guys like av8r/incubus, guys invited by syncerror in early june 2007 who played regularly with syncerror and his family. After which, i told both him and ordus they were idiots for protecting and listening to incubus.

Because at the end of the day all that really matters is that this game has a future, and right now, based on a number of events (no advertising, ql being dropped, loss of playerbase, increase in cheating, loss of features, bad priorities, no communication, lack of vision (does anyone even really know what id intends to do with this game past quakecon?), etc etc etc.... it does not have such a future, a bleak one at best and that's with q5 included.

I don't believe syncerror and his team are purposely sabotaging ql either (for the record) but i do believe they are sabotaging their own game by making piss poor decisions. They're letting friendships,sponsors,relationships get in the way of their decision making process. They need to stick with their guns and stop trying to cater every single playerbase. Either they go with their original plan (making it an e-sport) or they make it casual (dumbing it down even further). But doing both as they're doing now is just pointless and wastes everyones time.

I don't play ctf but CA tier4, havent seen a single grey server for months.
Thoose that are dont appear on my list at all, and if i try to join a friends game on lower tier im not allowed to join at all.

So im guessing tier4 is maybe to easy to get in ctf? since im pretty sure that is where they must be playing.

Even on Tier4 there is a huge difference in skill.
