A cool movie but i didn't like the colors, and it felt like at times you just put in random effects/transitions that came to mind at the time.

I tend not to watch anything that's not cpm, so couldn't agree/disageee.

Production value is great. But what's with 20 different camera angles in 30sec? Very annoying.

Very nice job! I like most of the camera work, and the special effects like the falling/breaking camera. I also like the mix of game modes.

I have a few suggestions here and there, but overall, pretty solid work. In most other games out there a work like this would be considered superb, and the fact you'll get some harsh feedback is just because quakers standards are over the top.

too many transitions as someone said. other than that the editing seemed really good. frags were pretty normal tho. nothing really that awesome.

Will we be able to find frags that make people shit their pants? Prolly not, double air rox just aren't as impressive, neither are pixel rails, good shafting, etc, so idk if that's a big fault.

I didn't even get to the 10th minute of the vid before I turned it off. 4/10 - the frags are great but the constant camera change just gives me a headache (quite literally).

I see a common thread among many of the comments. First, you have crazy talent for editing, title/transition FX, camera angles, etc. In fact this piece could do well serving as a promotional/proof-of-concept video.

You just need to pick a few effects you like as a motif and stick to them to develop a rhythm. For the overall punch, less is more. There's just too much dazzle and eye-candy(albeit very impressive) packed into one vid.
+ I liked some of the slow-mo breakdowns leading up to certain frags.
+ You have a great eye for blocking and where you need the camera to build drama and punch.
- Like faerie_ (sorta) said -- Don't skimp on the creative process when picking music. Put as much juice into those selections as you did creating your very slick, ultra-professional titles and transitions. Otherwise your standout visuals get washed out by a generic soundtrack.

8/10 for pure visual prowess.

+Nice intro, bit long though.
+Really really good editing and visual effects, one of the best seen, but it feels like they were packed into a box which was sealed with tape after that.
-Constantly changing camera angles made me dizzy, especially since its 5:09, good angles, too fast.
-Too long overall.
-The "cool" visual effects eventually got repetetive, they should be unique.

I like the weird edits, although they seem a little over used. If the one from 5:41-5:43 was the only full-stop kind of thing in it, I would have shit myself. Something about the sudden break in the song but with the game sounds left in gets me.

I liked the song that started at at 8:30 or so, rest of it was kind of meh for me. Music is so subjective though, use what you like.

9/10, didn't like it at first, but it grew on me.

Great movie, really refreshing compared to the ones we got this week before ( zeroql's and that rndm cpm movie). Editing was top notch, really like ur use of colours and camera angles, though u prolly overdid in the first 4mins or so, after that it was just perfect. Frags were decent and music was entertaining, solid piece of work all around.

Something other movie makers should learn from you is how you bring viewer in the situations. You really excell at it: you do nice looking slowmo cam's which give viewer insight about how many enemies there are and whats the situation. After that it just goes to normal 1st person cam and owning starts. It looks absolutely superb and also makes frags more worthy.

i wish i could have read the credits or see some frags inbetween the cutting... unfortunatelly the editors have overdone their work :(

Nice camera work... this is the best way of story telling of what is actually going on enemy and player side. Showing first, how many enemys a player will face and then showing how a player actually did is awesome aswell. It made an effect of making awesome frags into super awesome frags. (cuz u actually took the time and explained them)

maybe the colors wasnt my cup of tee -light bluish color burn, but once i was in the movie i didnt rly mind that much.

i completely agree with comment #10. you definitely have the potential and editing ability to make something truly spectacular though so i look forward to the next movie :) i'm pleasantly surprised at the reasonably positive response to the standard of content since i have quite low standards and thought it was still really good (bar one or two short range everyday rockets) :)

imo you should get some beta testers specifically for music since that was what was lacking in this movie and yes music is extremely important.

On Topic: i don't get how people are bashing the use of cams and effects so much. Sure, it's a matter of taste, but it was extremely well done and a shitload of work must have gone into this.

Scenes were awesome, Same goes for music. Yes, one song was used already, but it's not like ihe used some song that has been used 1000 times.

Lots and lots of awesome ideas, other people (including me) would have made 3 whole movies with this!

It might look long, but i actually didn't notice that when watching, it seemed shorter than many 5min videos. That alone is a testament to the entertainment value!

The only objective drawback is the lack of playerbars.

Still, big big stuff, one of the best movies out there. Keep 'em coming plz! :D

- it was too much, just turning down the frequency of the effects and focusing it on the extraordinary frags would have helped a lot.

I think it could be better if you put white/green keel instead of yellow tank.

And also i like shorter movies. Like 8 not 13 minutes. It's boring after sometime to watch it. But it's my opinion only.

WEll when I went back I thoroughly enjoyed the remaining, yeah still some boring like ztn spawn frags I mean wth that's new?

Loved the music, I liked the colours and the whole production of it although yeah some was overused/annoying like too much stop start music in the first half to the point it was like whats the point of putting it there but nvrmind.

I decided to watch the 2nd half of the movie in the end - there is only so much broken glass editing rubbish I can watch. I actually wanted to watch some frags being made instead of a hyper active computer wizz fondling demo files.

too many flashy effects chopping up the frags, and the frags were largely more coincidental then impressive. Like putting a bucket of sprinkles on some lowfat yogurt.

great looking intro, dunno if it fits quake perfectly tho and you could have easily put some frags in there too, no?

as a whole it reminds me of a QL get quaked fragmovie, both have a lot of community frags (not the highest quality/mostly pub play) from all the gamemodes, from diverse skill tiers, which is not necessarily a negative, but in that regard some players who sent in demos will miss being mentioned as "actors"

one of the best fragmovies i've seen in a very long time, and i've seen a lot

Great editing, most frags were mediocre.
Looking forward to Impression 3, in case it comes.
Some heads up from my point of view for any future projects:
- less transitions
- more selective frag collection
- shorter intro

This has a lot of potential, the first half was awesome, especially the dm6 lg frag or the gauntlet frag - it blew my mind :). However, the second half wasn't - I swore if I saw one more shattered glass effect I'd shatter my screen, fortunately it was the last one (9th or 10th).

The camera angles and the build up to the frags were awesome - just use fewer special fx's in the future so that when they come they are really outstanding.
