if you dont mind manually setting 500/1000 hz you can't go wrong with the 518 , which weighs a bit less than the 510 (slightly better sensor but almost impossible to find a new one nowadays)
Qck > Talent
Personal prefrence really. Talent is faster / Qck has lots of friction.
I see lag on screen when I play with Talent which Doesn't happen on Qck for 500 or 1000hz
I agree with you. As much as I like the abyssus and wmo having to click the forward and back button is not worth it. I say go for the g400. Just don't install drivers.
so my mx518 broke and when i went to the shop i bought it from to to get a new one they told me they don't sell them anymore. they told me it will be replaced g400 and offered me a deal to get a new g400 for free my broken mx518. is this a good deal? are there no negative changes in the g400 compared to mx518? sensor works the same just has more dpi etc?
People go off on one about "OH NOES I DON'T NEED HIGH DPI AND FLASHY LIGHTS"
So don't buy them for that then. At the end of the day, pretty much all 'gaming' mice have decent enough sensors that they won't hinder you. It only really comes down to shape etc. Obviously if you get a mouse with jitter or some shit, then it's junk, but prediction? Seriously? Some of the best aimers around use mice with prediction. Get over it. It's not going to hinder you
Just go for whatever shape you like. G400 looks alright and I hear it's alright so go for it
Has logitech fixed the windows 7 driver issues with the g400?
I'm considering buying one, but I'm unsure as to how the drivers work. Can I set the hz / customize the dpi settings and they will keep when I do not have drivers on?
no they haven't but on the forums one of their employees finally responded and said a fix is coming soon. i think they banned my account too for rightfully bad mouthing them. and no you can't keep the hz and dpi without drivers. i tried hidusbf also and it didn't work.
Ok I have this mouse for 3 days now and the feeling is really really great with a very high malfunction speed (they announced 140 ips) and no pos/neg accel (not noticeable to me)
You can go 400 / 800 dpi and 1000hz out of the box without any drivers.
The sensor used in the mouse is the S3095 (http://www.f-paper.com/?i715960_8), an updated sensor based on the ADNS-3090 from Avago.
The only issue to me is the prediction... If they can do a G410 with an updated firmware it would be the best mouse on the market for sure.
G400 had same amount of prediction as Mx518 which kinda sucks for quakers. But I heard if you install drivers it reduce prediction and it jitters? Have you experienced that?
I didn't install drivers but from what I read it doesn't reduce prediction, but it jitters yes. They found the problem so they will release a new driver soon.
By the way it's quite useless to install the drivers since you have all you need without.
I got mine today.
Software is terrible. If you want same Dpi (non stock DPI) as Mx518 its not the same.
W/O software 400/800 dpi are nice and feels same as Mx518
If you want 900 DPI its not the same as Mx518 it feels different.
Mx518 / DA 900 dpi feels same I need same sensitivity in game.
But with G400/software omg its feels like it has 940 Dpi or something and it feels like it has some accel. I am not sure. I didn't feel it like Mx518.
Beware software is still very buggy. Stock Dpi are really nice.
G500 is 120g (without weights) Logitech confirmed
G400 is 105g Logitech confirmed
Mx518 is 105g Logitech confirmed
WMO is around 79g
IO1.1 is around 86g
3.0 is around 10xg
Abyssus is around 67g
Spawn is around 85g
Deathadder BE 3.5G is around 113g
Deathadder 3G is around 109g
Have no clue how much the 3.5G version with lights weighs.
Stock feet aren't 100% teflon but they have a decent feel.
I got a G400 as a replacement for a MX518 that became damaged over time. I use it at work now, so no drivers, it feels nice, definitely very well made. I think it would be too heavy for me for gaming, also prediction, much prefer WMO.
