for 350 you can almost buy 2 2233rzs... maybe read around for a while before making another one of these "help, i'm too lazy to search, please help internet!" posts :c

* 120hz is huge for games, not so much for anything else.
* tn panels are still tn panels, even at 120hz.
* full hd screens dropped in price a lot lately, eg. the lg 120hz 1080p monitor is just 166€ (used to be 350+), while the 2233rz still sits above 200€.
* a 27" tn panel without 120hz will plain suck for gaming, won't be great for anything else either, the pricing is a sad joke.

thx for reply. for first i dont really like to read forums being unknown to me, as i dont know who post while in esr as i saw there is generally highly educated ppl posting. also tests mostly being made by sellers or ppl who only used the product for a few days...

the 27" would be good for me to play online poker as i sometimes play 30+ tables cascade/stacked and id still have a little space to manage site lobby, so my question is more like how much this 27" suck compared to my old grumpy 223bw (if it would?), when it comes to anything else aside poker.

as far as price range goes i can only order from hungary due to pixel guarantee policies, this is how much these monitors cost here, i know its only my probelm not anyone elses.
so would you prefer lg one over the samsung even if both being sold at the same price? btw i meant 350$ not € the 2233rz and the p2770hd are both 350$ here.
why u say the 27" pricing is a sad joke? im actually was kinda shocked first nowadays a 27" costs only 350$, however im not sure the quality (i assume its low but how low lol).
also these 120hz monitors works with any video card or i have to buy a special one to make run at 120hz?

if you care for desktop space, get a 2nd cheap monitor with 1920x1080 or x1200

paying 350-400€ for a tn panel is a little insane, unless you really want one (for gaming, can't imagine for anything else).

24" is the upper limit (imo) for gaming, i'd imagine anything bigger won't help but likely hurt. i have no idea how that 27" does in games, might have to do with the latter (no one buying a 27" for gaming).

the lg has a bigger screensize and a higher resolution, if you happen to believe some of the tests out there it's also faster (in terms of reaction time) than the samsung.

like t1e said, if you really need space you probably want a 2 monitor setup.

paying 350 for a 2233rz, € or $, nowadays is completely nuts. whatever you do, don't do that :c

Why would you buy the Samsung over the LG?

afaik samsung is the ace of display manufacturers while lg not so much... i can be completely wrong tho, not following the market at all for years.

Samsung is doing well in the LCD era, but the W2363D is better than the current 120Hz Samsung monitors.

Slightly lower latency and better pixel density mainly, not to mention it uses 1920x1080 that is more of a standard resolution.

You cant go wrong with 2233rz i am very happy with mine and yes stick with Samsung.

I also have the 2233rz.

I would recommend it for gaming, but since it's not FULL HD -> 1680x1050, it's not that good for movie watching or if you want to play games in that resolution. That is the biggest downside if you ask me. If you don't have a sturdy desk, the 'foot' of the monitor is not that stable.

Part from that, I'm very happy with it :)

I've got the 2233rz too, because everyone seemed to like it, and nobody mentioned any major flaws.
And i haven't been dissapointed, coming from 1024x768@144hz CRT.

I'm with everyone else, 2233rz all the way. In fact, I wouldn't mind a second one.

It is crazy and I completely ignore that.

Where are you guys seeing these for any cheaper? I can't find one under $300 with the exception of a couple small-time online stores that I don't know or trust.

the viewsonic and the samsung were the two first 120hz monitors and you guys still want to pay/ are paying the price from back in may 2007 when it came out?? wtf.

Yeah, that Viewsonic model is the only really competitive one price-wise over here.

yep, should get while it's still available/cheap as viewsonic recently announced a newer model.

Well, the VX2268WM is a great alternative to the monitors mentioned above.

I have the LG W2363D. I had to mess with the color calibration quite a lot other than that Its awesome!

LG W2363D here too. Bought it for 160 euro's. Excellent screen for gaming.
