I think you're grossly over-exaggerating Bethesda's role in this. Like, are you trying to say that Bethesda Game Studios actually wrote up the legal documents and sent them to notch themselves?

I honestly can't care less about the source of the idea.. What matters to me, is that nobody at Bethesda Game Studios or at Bethesda Softworks stopped this, or said something to prevent this attention whoring.

For a (selfish;]) example; they could just put those lawyers onto getting the rights of the 3w maps we want in QL instead of suing over words like "Scrolls".. what's next, "The"? Or they could hire a real game programmer... or whatever. The cost of a case like this alone could give QL a second chance.... Do I need to go on?

edit: but even getting some party girls for the hard working developer guys at Bethesha would be a better use of the money than this.

Whats even more outrageous is Bethesda forcing Interplay to hand over the Fallout MMO license for free. They claim that Interplay dont have the necessary amount of resources and staff to finish the MMO project in time and fulfill their Trademark Licensing Agreement.

IMO Bethesda planed this from the start because Interplay at the time had no development staff and funding to start shit. Now Bethesda is in panic mode trying to bully their way to the license.
Not to mention Bethesda cockblocking Glutton Creeper and terminating their previous PnP License with Interplay.

They raped the Fallout IP "George Lucas Style", with all of their DLC releases that don't resemble anything close to the original settings.

Notch now wants to settle Scrolls dispute via Quake 3!

The only negative thing going on at this moment is the Scrolls trademark lawsuit nonsense, and I think I came up with the perfect solution:

I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3. Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins.

If we win, you drop the lawsuit. If you win, we will change the name of Scrolls to something you’re fine with.

Regardless of the outcome, we could still have a small text somewhere saying our game is not related to your game series in any way, if you wish.

I am serious, by the way.

This is probably the most awesome duel challenge ever! Grow some balls Bethesda and show that you have any idea of what gaming is if any.

If anyone in the company ever played Quake it's just free advertising on top of closed case. It'll be easy to make the duel happen in QL instead of Quake 3 since it's basically the same thing. And create the trend: "have an issue? solve it like real men: good old quake challenge!"
