What's wrong with learning things from a config of a more experienced player? It gives you the opportunity to try out other people's styles and understand why they're able to play in certain ways. Nothing wrong with it and it can be very beneficial imo, as long as the person realises using the cfg won't instantly make them as good as that player and they should work out what's best for them.
that's true, actually my cfg was based on the config of ocr*sl1nger (like 11 years ago or so :> )
but why do ppl ask for new configs after _every_ major tournament? do they really think that the usual pr0 does a complete makeover of his cfg every 2 weeks? why not just take an old one instead?
probably not but accel/sens/crosshairs/minor gfx changes are always welcome. and and not to forget fov. all those factors change quite a lot during the pro scene imho. ive seen a lot of different crosshairs from cooller for instance.
Maybe he's a new player and wants some up to date configs? Having a whole group of quality configs is helpful for new players, so they can test different one's and find one to their liking.
At least from DH configs, I noticed there's some people that set playerlean per weapon. It's set to 1 for all weapons except RL, which is set to 0. I can understand using 0 for LG, but I would think you'd want the lean when using rockets.
regarding playerlean I always check noctis' cfg. he changed it from 0.5 to 0.7 I think. Also tox changed it back afaik to other values. I play on 1 now. I liked the old style..
At high speeds the player models lean to the direction they are going, you can turn it off. I think it was off by default in Q3 and on by default in QL.
The problem used to be(because hitboxes are fucking huge now) that the model might lean outside of the hitbox and you would have a thru-rail.
