the best times in the world on this map are less than a minute quicker from me, so given my limited play time and crappy setup, I would say I'm pretty good yeah and would improve much more if I actually played more thn a few days every 6 months.

I play the game so little the last two times I played I predicted by several days that someone would up a demo of me.

When I originally posted it you tried to somehow imply that I was playing on low tier servers and that was the only reason I achieved a quicker time, but Devpicks were unranked, so that went out of the window and even if they were ranked, I would say its all relative anyway as cooller is in much better shape than me and has been playing pro for nearly 10 years.

And to top it off my best time is less than a minute slower than the best in the world, and that's at half my ability, with a worn out mouse, 60hz tft playing a few hours over the xmas holidays.

We went over this before, his nearest rival had 34 frags, the average score of other players on that server he was on was 22, so don't give me shit about the players on his server were somehow better.

No, it has a lot to do with it. You hit 23% LG against a level 6 CPM bot, and they only just start to use CPM movement. Even nightmare bots hit MUCH higher accuracies, so you probably can't even beat just a VQ3 nightmare bot. Nightmare CPM is more like... 70-ish? 100+ is where it's at.

Apart from a bafta, having worked one some of the most popular games of all time, travelled the world, fulfilled my dreams of working on games, and been left with a skillset which allows me to earn good money doing something I live for. Given I seldom if ever looked for people my own skill level (according to quakelive) and seldom won games on the hard servers (why would I-despite coming close) then the rank does not surprise me.

You don't realize games have always been a hobby for me, not a way to try and make money. I've never wanted to be a pro gamer, a video game designer, or anything like that. It might be your dream but it isn't mine. So not only am I not envious of working in the video game industry (I love my job), but by thinking you'll make me jealous about what you say you''ve done with games you just got it all wrong.

I didn't get any money through gaming, however I improved my languages skills, met a few nice people who are now good friends, and won a few online cups on a game far less popular than quake (which made me happy at the time). And I'm happy with just that.

Gaming might be all that matters in your life, but not in mine. So maybe you're making a few people jealous because they believe everything you say about what you've accomplished and all the money you've earned through gaming, but it does nothing to me apart from realizing how much gaming and the gaming industry means to you. The keyboard is heavily customised, even if I could have bought the same one, I would not have been able to modify it as I useda drill and axesaw.
