What is the most efficient way of reporting cheaters by the way - reporting through email/QL built in requests or via speaking to one of the id employees on IRC?

I find that the QL built in requests (or reports) are easiest to get in contact for help or reporting cheaters.

When i payed 24€, which is not too much nowadays, i was hopping someone would take care of the game.

However....

- QL has quite a lot cheaters
- I hate how some of those cheaters are close to developers... so they know about the cheating and they dont do anything
- Some "pro players" have been proven to cheat; nobody does anything about that.
- No real new content has been added
- Webpage and game has still quite a lot of bugs
- No real interest from developers in the community; they are not taking care anything but their wages
- No real chat
- No anticheat
- Forums really sux.

Despite all these things, and few more, we keep on playing since we lack a real competitive game.

Developers dont even realize what they got in their hands; years ago, community realized they got a raw diamond that needed to be polished and any competitive mod (i.e OSP/CPM)+a good game browser(ASE/gamespy) was better than what we have now.

I think, and belive me some more people thinks this, SyncError and their developers had the biggest luck stroke in their life since anyone in ESR who knows a little of web and c programming could be doing what they are doing.

The /block <player name> command is the perfect remedy for the problem you describe.

It is not - and should not ever be - id's job to monitor everybody and censor people's basic right to express themselves via written text on the Internet. (its just TEXT. It's not like people are bashing heads in with clubs or anything truly violent)

can't go to IRC from here, but couldn't find anything telling that ID would ban people with racist in game chat messages. (only found that policy regarding the comments on the quakelive forum)

the reason av8r isn't banned is because he's close friends with syncerror. The reason kroox isn't banned is because then they'd have to come up with an excuse as to why av8r isn't banned as well. And so on, hence the reason they don't act on any of them.

Go ahead, go into a game with av8r and see for yourself, demo him, report him and watch how nothing happens. i will leave esr if i'm wrong, go ahead.

Endless circle. Ban them and they will comeback the day after with a brand new account anyway. And people pay for this, seriously. Id software, you ruined this game and destroyed what was left of this community.

the new battle.net has greatly helped reduce alternate accounts (inb4 cooloutac), but seriously, that is definetely needed in ql. It's currently way to easy to make a new account, literally takes 30 seconds if you know the routine...

to be honest its really hard to catch duel cheaters. most of them just wallhacking or only toggling the aimbot in for a limited amount of time. in pub servers thats just pretty hard to gather around enough material about them, excluding from those who even too dumb to cheat.
i'd say my estimation is 25% of pub.dueller are cheating (at least)... and before someone start excusing, no not only the ones are beating me=)))
also most of them already passed the lolnoob stage so have somewhat ok movement, aim etc... and also most of the not cheating all the time only when they feel like it (raged, etc)...so like playing 3 match from 10 with cheats.

for me now everyone is suspicious without prem/pro. and especially with low playtime... i could name at least 20 person from the top of my head who surely cheats/cheated at some point, but whats the point? im not paying 25$/year to take the role of an inqisitor and do their job, hunt down cheaters. btw pmx_ was hella suspicious for me aswell.

solution is play only with who you trust, as pathetic as it sounds...

as for demo sending. a project which cant pay 1 developer full time, do you think they have resources to have someone who sitting through all the 10 min demos and taking notes where did some suspicious thing happen?
my guess they ban accounts based on the volume of the demos coming in.

maybe we can do a little hack. the community puts the hit out on someone than everyone upload 1-2 demo from the person =))))

but anyway if someone ever thinking about how they review demos, paying someone watching those would be flushing down money on the toilet basically, so that means they use some algorythm which is exploitable... and yes i didnt paid to do the job and send demos / screenshot, especially at this rate i probably could send one after every 10 matches at least...

i'm sorry i can't take someone who is trying to impersonate me on esr seriously. If you want to have a normal conversation change your name back, otherwise i don't have anything else to say to you. Just know you're in for a fight if you're looking to escalate this further.
