ESL Major Series Season IX was announced with 8 titles. 
Quake Live will be part of this new season, and since IEM dropped Quakelive duel, it now becomes the new mode for EMS. The cash prize will consist of 1 000€ for the top3 players.The qualifiers should be run on the following model: players will have to go through national cups to be placed in the Qualifiers Rounds, an international cup will be run for countries without national cups. Each country will get a number of players directly qualified and/or placed in the 2 Qualifier Rounds. We will reach a total of 20 players at the end of the process. Also, 4 players will get a direct invitation.
