Jamerio is right, the spectator numbers for starcraft are there because of the high player numbers and the game's general competitiveness, it's not really a good first-time-viewer spectator sport.
yet everyone who has ever played a computer game watches replays online during lunchbreak and what not, thanks to day[9] and hdgamer and million other casting analyzers. Honestly I have not seen any multiplayer video game becoming this popular in past 10 years, probably only halo on xbox comes close.

I'd certainly watch quake or dota over starcraft, but saying that, I would rather watch a footy match or something over any game, so for me games in sports bars just wouldn't do it for me lol
again stupid, the UK bar industry is already on its ass after the smoking ban and still declining, which is why now on most thur fri saturday nights you can get £1 or £2 a drink offers.
