I really did. I used to always LG 29 to 31 percent. Always. Then I started messing around with the LG styles and remembered the Visje videos where he used the massive beam. I switched and since then when I'm not goofing around I'm LGing 35 to 39 percent. The only change was the style.

every game 6 per cent vs pros and noobs. always 6 percent more. it almost doubled his accuracy.

No. The whole point is you pull the gun model 'back' towards you. His settings are wrong though.

It is better with drawgun 0 as the beam is wider, thus more transparent.
combined with dark surroundings, low intensity it is almost invisible

i dont have postprocess nor colorcorrection turned on, put intensity to 0 and there isnt any difference.

in fact, the wide beam is just way worse

you can have the beam way more transparent than this, though. you don't use postprocess for the fps gain or a different reason?

what you do isn't the "best you can get in ql", but something for people with low fps. a better pc will let you have better settings.

in fact you can have a more transparent beam than that even without postprocess.
could write a list of cvars with values but i'm lazy so i'll just say exec some recent cypher cfg and turn postprocess off, the beam will still be very transparent.

feel free to go ahead and representwith pictures how a thin picmipped shaft less transparent than the wide one, as i assume youre one of the better people with better settings on a better pc with high fps... im truly sorry to hurting your eyes with the pictures i managed to craft out from the pile of diarrhea i dare to call a personal computer... nevermind with same visual settings both the wide and thin picmipped shaft will be equally transparent as my settings arent visual ones, all they does its putting the gun behind causing you only see what would be the "end" segment of the wide beam streched to the gun range

sorry, wasn't trying to hate or anything. it's just that (imo) there are better settings if you can afford to have them enabled.

its pretty good too except i always want to aim with the beam instead of the cross and with truelightning 1 im hitting half the accuracy i used to =)

also try to play with playerlean a bit. might help you to increase ur acc.

playerlean and keel do not work together for me, wish it had a lean animation similar to the tankjr one (only bends at knee level).

I looked into this as well because I noticed the beam distracts my aim.

Here are the steps that lead me to thinking like this, mind you my lg was never bad, I just wanted to improve it:

1- I thought on it and noticed that my attention is divided between different kinds of aiming when I shoot lg, I aim with the crosshair, and with the intensity of hitbeep (aim by sound), I doubt this is the case for many but seriously think on it for a sec.

2- I decided that sound was unneeded, we aimed just fine in qw and q2 without hitsounds, why do we need a hitsound for lg? rail obv you would want sound and rl, gl, and plasma for spam. I removed hitsounds for lg (and mg) and just focused on the crosshair. unless you ping high and you have to lead hitsounds are a bit pointless for hitscan streamed weps.

3- The other day I thought again to myself, whats the point of the beam. I fired up a simple bot match and used mg and lg, I noticed that I consistently hit %5 better with mg, with everything already out of the combination the beam is the only distraction that can cause this.

Considering you know the lg range by heart, I think the beam is not needed and you can just treat it like a mg with range. For me this works, probably not for others, unfortunately ql does not have this option like cpma did :/

i know, but size 1 leaves a tiny dirt in the middle while 0 would kill it off completely, no?

Usually the crosshair completely disappears by size maybe 7 even.

Maybe he has it so the cvartest in his hud tests for crosshairsize 1 to draw the custom cross.
