I would just hack up a Kinzuadder if you've got a DA that you're not going to use anyway. It wouldn't really take that long, if you're good with a soldering iron you could probably have it done in a couple of hours.

If you do happen to open up the DA let me know wtf they put in there. I have one as well, and I have no idea how it's so heavy when its slightly smaller than my IME 3.0, which weighs probably half as much. Fucking thing wears my hand out.

The prediction in the Spawn can be turned off in the software. I can't really talk about the performance, because mine was probably faulty.

It seems, that both the Abyssus and the Spawn are 50-50 mouse:
Abyssus: jitter
Spawn: tracking

The design of the Spawn is quite unorthodox, so you either like it, or smash it while cursing at it. If you like to use your ring finger to help you gripping the mouse, than forget it. Also, if you don't like your pinky held straight and pointing directly forward, than it's a no-go.
I have normal sized hands (7") and the Spawn is small, but the shape forced me to use some weird palm grip, which was quite annoying. The back is high and the ring finger support forces you into one position.
On the other side, the buttons and the scroll are fine, build quality is nice, and the rubber on the sides are a very good upgrade from the horrible DA sides.

The Abyssus is very nice, I like it a lot. It's like a DA, but smaller and the stupid right side fixed. You can hold it very firmly, the buttons in my opinion are better than on the DA v2, as they provide more feedback. Some ppl find the side edge a bit sharp but it's nothing serious.
I found one issue with the shape: the bottom of the mouse is really narrow as it has a 1-2 mm narrowed down part first, than starts the mouse. The skates are small and they are close to each other, so the mouse is nowhere as stable as... probably any other mouse I has (DA, WMO, Spawn, G400, MS Laser 6000, etc). Also, the sides of the narrowed down part is really sharp, so if you tilt the mouse a little bit, it can get stuck on cloth pads.
Of course, this is not a serious issue with the mouse, but it worth mentioning.

My recommendation, if you want a smaller and lighter and better DA, than go for the Abyssus, it will feel very comfortable and natural after the DA. Just hope for a non jittering one. (Mine is jittering in specific angles, but in game it is not really noticable, as i'm not drawing straight lines with the mouse tilted 15 degrees.)

The Spawn is a different story, it only depends on you, if you like the shape or not. However mine was not working with 2 firmware and with the third it skipped above 1 m/s. But I heard about ppl who use it without problem with very low sens, so hope for one, that tracks. :-)

Just for the note: my mousepads: QcK+, Goliathus Control, I'm using 1920x1200 too, with 1800 DPI and with 0.7 sens.

I'd say definitely go for the Abyssus. I got one and have no complaints, I used to use a WMO and an MX518 and this mouse is simply the best I have used by far. I like them to be as light as possible and it is much lighter than the MX518.

Right, for now it looks like I'll get an abyssus and if it has tracking problems on my pad - return and get spawn... or maybe just sacrifice it to a rooster or something (yeah, razer hate >.<). Got about 8 more hours to think, or to sleep... let's see if 6 liters of cola will be enough :D

have you considered zowie ec2? it meets all your requirements except 1800dpi. it can do 500/1000/2000

I think you might have done something wrong.

Besides that ,since you didn't even mention lateral buttons and have a 8days time limit, you should hurry and buy a stock of WMOs plus an abyssus, just to live the "razer experience" and return it a couple days later.
Or a month , given the remote chance it doesn't jitter, as mouse1 will break down anyways.

In short, get a WMO, you won't regret it.

I couldn't get my 518 to go over 125hz on win7 x64, spent a week trying to change it. Takes less than a second with spawn software now. :D

Right, got a lolyssus, seems like its firmware is fine - tried it on a goliathus speed and control, no jitter. Gotta get used to the shape (the straight buttons and stuff), apart from that I think I just found the new definition for light. Problems so far:
1st - #@%#$@%#@ GLOSSY SIDES OMFG RAZER WTF!! <rant/>
2nd - no way to disable the light. It's a more saturated blue than the deathadder, but still...
3rd - no 2 side buttons for forward/back/binding_stuff_in_games_like_fable - not really a problem ^_^
4th - something's already moving inside. I guess that's part of the razer experience, though (the wheel on the deathadder's a bit loose too - both on my 3g and my friend's 3.5g).

i found a neat little trick for that.

open the abyssus up (provided you either a) wont ruin the skates or b) have replacement skates)
pull the pcb with the blue led out from the top part of the mouse
place the pcb/led led side first into the plastic near the sensor, so its facing the front of the mouse
tape the cord connecting pcb to pcb to the bottom of the mouse
re-assemble

the result is a much less bright blue glow from the top, in addition to the bottom now having a blue glow as well. it looks much better and doesnt blind teh piss out of you while still looking razery with the led

the abyssus light is a good way of detecting the ACPI S5 state (for wake on LAN)

And a good way to signal the Batman.

Switched from a 518 to Spawn a few days ago and I love it. I use finger tip grip and it perfect, I can't really claw grip it because my hands are kinda big. If u palm grip at all or dont rest ur ring finger on the top of the mouse then it'll be a no-go. Can change polling rate, and turn accel/prediction on and off in the software.

The only problem I've noticed is it stops tracking if I'm moving it slowly over the logo on my qck+, so pads with designs might not work great. I don't have any jitter problems with any variation of Hz/DPI using v32 firmware.

Abyssus when u prefer claw grip or ms 3.0 when u prefer palmgrip.

The ms 3.0 is maxed @ 450 dpi but that should still do fine @ 1920x1200 if you dont play with a extremely high sens.

abyssus high LOD = not good for gaming except you dont replace your mouse on your mousepad
spawn flawless tracking with latest firmware + black clothpad
no prediction or jitter just a flawless mouse.

spawn has problems with certain dpi / hz combinations
(there was a review somewhere with that info)

I'd say go for the abyssus, i have both and i don't like spawn that much, it's a bit heavier, the feet don't glide well compared to the small ones on the abyssus, cord can be super annoying if you don't fold it right, some weird jitter on pretty much anything but a black mousepad, 800dpi is useless if you want to play cs 1.6 with 50cm/360 or more, max perfect control speed is only 1.8m/s for 1800dpi unless you drop the polling rate down to 250hz, sensor position makes the tracking feel kinda weird, can't draw smooth circles in paint, and finally i don't like how wide it is, i prefer narrow mice like abyssus and wmo/imo, spawn occasionally made my pinky hurt because of its shape :(

I'm planning to sell my spawn to a friend, if i ever change i my mind i can buy xornet which is cheaper lighter and more reliable for low sens.

abyssus no doubt, im sure it will soon be considered one of the best gaming mice of all time, up there with WMOs and such... especially for the price, its performance is really unmatched by any mouse similar to it in both size, shape, functionality and of course, price.
