Its a personal opinion, I know the majority of players like quake3/quakelife for some reason, i just dont see it.

its shit to the whole world, pro payers make up 1% of players. pub servers on good released game go upto 6000 on some then drop to 1000 after a few months, then hang around 1000 players for a year, then died to a diehard 400 players for the rest of the games life

quake 4 has nothing to entertain casual gamers, quake 4 is full of bugs and glitches and has shit physics for pro players

q4mp/q4max/gtr server on q4master, they are lucky to get 30 players on at the same time, and its been like it since 2005

Yes i know its a hard game for new players. But if you do like me you can learn quite fast and then you will love the game.
You start by playing 1.0, 50% of the players there are completely new just like yourself and no one there is so good that you will get super raped so its a nice place to start and learn the basic of quake4

Then when you feel like you know about the game you can go to 1.4.2 , You will get pretty owned at the start but just try to avoid the really best players so you wont be discourage to play. And slowly build up your skill, Watch alot of pro matches to see what they do and just learn of your own mistakes. Thats how you get from casual gamer like yourself and most other players to a top player like myself.

if you dont really pay attention, there is absolute no difference in gameplay from q4 v1 to 1.4.2 patches, there are just some bug fixes and new features

back in those days, there was only 1 choice, if you wanted some modern FPS action
