Got an email from Sync today. Should have LAN technical requirements by tomorrow.

Keep in mind picking up QL is very complicated and there is more to it than just developer support. We need to know that you (The QL Community) will support it.

(I'd love to see QL fans beat out the attendance / online viewership of our console titles.)

Keep the votes coming. We need to get a feel for the health of the QL community.

Because their community plus the other gaming communities do the same as what just happened with this post. Some one makes a post with the link on their respective forums and all the fanboys jump on it spamming votes.

QL won't get more votes, unless people promote and spam it on more gaming sites where people care about the game, else they'll just vote LoL, SC2 or DoTa2 anyway :p

i know that a lot of Starcraft 2 players like Quake as a spectator sport. I went on teamliquid and
made a thread asking for votes for QL. It was taken down a bit later but in hindsight, it might not've
been a smart decision since SC2 is also on the list lol

unless NGL gets a significant pc sponsor. or if riot just sponsors the tournament, i dont think they can run LoL or Dota2. they are still plunging into the pc side. running a moba event with say 8 teams would require 20 computers. if they go with the sc2/quake (duel) route, they'll only need 6-10 computers.

really though, in the past 10 years. how many games in euro/usa have had sc2/lol/street fighter stream numbers? not really much right? only recently its boomed with sc2/moba/fighting games.

honestly in terms of fps, there hasn't been any HIGH stream numbers. whats the highest concurrent viewers cs had? halo? cod? i know quake live was 16k for one iem. cod xp had 30k max and thats pretty sad considering they dropped millions on that event. fps genre just hasn't boomed

I think it's because the FPS genre hasn't implemented many stream-friendly features to their games. Look at SC2 stream features compared to Halo, CoD, or Quake. The difference makes RTS look like gold.

You know the votes for any of these games wont be really worth much if votes come from places outside the USA since it is a lan based event. Sure we could get every quaker in the world to vote but only the people in the USA can go which would be less then or equal to the number of duellers qlranks.com says USA has.

Man, quake live should have streams and upcoming events on the side of their website so heaps of people can get into the esport that is quake. That alone shouldn't be hard to implement but maybe a bit of a task to keep the events up to date and accurate.
I mean they stream with quakecon, how hard is it to make a few html tags and an unordered list of upcoming events?

Anyway, felt I needed to say that lol. Anyway hope QL gets voted in :D!
