whats different from the current spawn sensor? My spawn is perfect as far as I can tell, no jitter or prediction. This just looks like a black Spawn with different dpi settings.

edit: pause at 3:53. What's up with the sensor placement? Is it just the odd shape of the mouse messing with me, or does it look like its a little off to one side? And sideways? Probably not a big deal, but seems like a strange choice.

It does look like they rotated the sensor 90 degrees. However I can't say for sure on placement vs. being centered. It has a somewhat odd shape so it's hard to tell.

Maybe they had to turn the PCB and sensor sideways to fit it into that shell? Who knows.

Looks centered along the width and a bit towards the back along the length. The spawn has the same placement and sensor orientation.

The angle the sensor is positioned in has no effect in game play.

Its more about how far back or how far in front of the centre it is.

no, that's not true, we had a thread about this a while ago. the position of the sensor does change the way movements are translated into the game.

Possibly as cheap as 20 euros (or around 27$).

Probably just speculation at this point though.

The ones from spawn is not only thick, it's also relatively short.
But i don't like the shape anyways, where the most control has to be done by the pinky.
I think it would be a better mouse if they would chop right ledge.

And make it about 4cm longer. :)

I could be wrong but from the video it looks like the cable is the same thickness of the spawn which is indeed way too thick IMO.

He says it's lighter. I like the sound of that. The Spawn is already fairly light at around 85g, but I still prefer lighter mice like the Abyssus.

Reading the xornet box on 1080p says angle snapping can be turned on and off. I think we have a winner.

If they can get the LOD as low as possible without messing with the tracking it'll be pretty good. Price seems right, shape is iffy, but I've noticed I hold my wmo with my ring finger right where that hump would be, so I'll give it a shot. With Logitech giving NA the big FU regarding the g100, this looks like the next best thing.

Only thing I'm wondering about is will it have upgradeable firmware? It was mentioned somewhere (I think the video) it has less onboard memory than the spawn. Be nice also if settings are saved w/out drivers.

I own a spawn, I really like it overall but I have the following gripes:

#1 - The cable sucks (too heavy, too stiff)
#2 - Default LOD is very high
#3 - #2 is fixed with a firmware upgrade. Problem is, the spawn will only track on some mouse pads after that.
#4 - Arrows on side buttons were a stupid idea.

A higher perfect control speed would be nice, but fix these issues without breaking anything else and you got a perfect mouse

I'm in love with my Spawn atm, firmware 30a. I don't care about LOD, but it has what a need atm.

Solid performance at 1800 dpi, no skipping, no accell issues, no prediction and it fits my small hands.

The only way someone will be able to seduce me into buying a different mouse now would a symmetrical version or a MX518'ish shape.

apparently CM are shipping this mouse, and someone on overclock.net has one. Anyone know of any decent reviews of it sensor wise?

I haven't seen a good review yet. I ordered it since CM with the spawn has shown a willingness to try and tune the sensor through firmware and I love the spawn shape. We will see if the Xornet has a higher perfect control speed (at DPI's I am more comfortable with) once Amazon starts shipping them.

High LOD (4.8mm) and experienced positive accel. Would've been nice if they could provide some actual numbers for max speed and such. There's also no software (included or on CM's site) for it yet, which you can't disable prediciton and it appears to be on by default.

Other than that, all the reviews I've seen, holy shit are they awful. People complaining about no weight system, only 2000 dpi, no LEDs; and spending most of their "review" talking about the packaging.

Yeah that's the biggest problem with reviewers these days, they're talking to much about useless crap. Sure more dpi is nice, but what's it worth when the sensor can't even perform reliably.

And anyone using weights... lower your sens ffs, it'll make u more accurate.

no it's not a problem these days, only sujoy and some japanese guys got it right in the past, most all other 'reviews' or 'tests' are useless.

but consider this, the majority of reviewers is bought, they get cash in one way or another for hyping a product. so no matter how hard they try without blatantly lying, if a product is bad you can only do or say so much to hype it.

I've got so many mice lying around that I've often thought about just making good honest youtube vids reviewing the mice.
I don't have the tools like sujoy, but I have 1 thing though:

I'm amazed. He actually did his research and constructed a fairly solid review. Stuff like sensor information used to be scarce, but I'm truly happy that my reference thread and or post are actually contributing towards informative reviews and ultimately better products.

As for Battlefield, the frostbite engine does allow raw input, although there's inherit engine acceleration from what I can recall from the small time I spent in bc2.

Scroll wheel is nicer on the spawn, I can tell they used something not as nice on the xornet...

LOD - tracks perfectly with 2 cd's moves intermittently with 3 cd's

if prediction is on by default the typical paint test is not showing it for me, so I'm not sure how hitechlegion above is finding it.

tested with CSS raw input on and setting the mouse to its slowest setting in game, and dpi at 500. It appears like there is something slightly going on negative accel wise with the sensor. The spawn I can only see this sort of issue with very very fast movements. With the xornet it appears as if it is easier to cause. The xornet was tested on the Zowie G-TF Spawn mouse pad with CSS set to raw input and the sensitivity at its lowest. Basically I move all the way across the pad slowly and then move it back quickly. I often am not getting back to the same point. It has always moved a shorter amount of distance on the fast swipe back...

It appears as if anyone who runs really low sense isn't going to like this mouse(although several fairly loud voices have also stated they don't like the cmstorm spawn mouse for low sense either at overclock.net)

All of my tests were done at the 500dpi setting. I didn't try they other ones as of yet.

others who get this let me know if you experience the same thing or if something in my testing is flawed. I'll happily redo it using different methods if anyone has suggestions.

The Spawn is fine using 30a firmware on 1800dpi for low sens, anything else is flawed though.

The lift-off distance on the stock firmware is ridiculous. Feels like 8mm (razer goliathus).
V55 is good, but the prediction is really aggressive.

wtf ? i would really like to use the talent because it's so soft, xornet glides better on it that the hien and my pinky doesn't feel weird when it drags along the surface, tried v55 beta, still no dice :( my suggestion to low sense players is to stay the fuck away from this mouse until CM gets their shit together and releases a proper firmware update, now if only i had a puretrak talent WHITE .....

I bought a Xornet and I have no problems with it in Quake Live. I'm using raw input and I have a mouse fix anyway. There's no accel. Enotus Mouse Test says that the tracking speed is 3.00 m/s. There's just a little bit more prediction compared to a WMO and the LOD is ~3CD (high compared to WMO. You notice it in Quake.).

Its weight is the same as a WMO (82g) but the Xornet feels more dense. It is very comfortable to claw. I can relax my hand more on the Xornet than the WMO. It's insane.

The cord is less thick and more flexible than a WMO.

I am using it on a puretrak talent.

You have to be careful when you test this mouse for accel because the sensor isn't centered.

EDIT: Just realised this mouse and G300 have the same sensor.

So what's the final verdict here? I'm so used to my death adder now I wonder if it's worth it me wasting my cash. It's not like it will improve my aim or anything.

Unless you really like the shape of this mouse, its not really worth it. And tbh I didn't think the shape was that nice. But if you're a claw user then it might be perfect for you (its kind of a love/hate thing).

I got (ever so slight) concerns about the non-centered sensor position, any comments on that from people who actually tried the mouse?

There should be some newer firmwares, iirc the people who reviewed it before brushed away the most recent firmwares and didn't test them.

LOD jitter and angle snapping are pretty low on v75, mouse still has terrible PCS tho, I use my xornet @ work only, pretty good for desktop use imo, its shape is not suited for low sens players anyway
