Guys, I just bought new laptop with this specs

core i7
6 gigas ddr3 1333mhz
geforce gt 540m Cuda

Well the main problem is that i bought it and I can´t get stable fps ( 125 fps). Also in maps like vertical vengeance I reach 80 fps...

Strange stuff cause I play other games or tried at least for example Fifa 2012 demo with high graphics, on my hdmi tv and it works fine...

Please someone help? I´m really needing a help here =)

Thanks a lot in advance and sorry to bother you up. If you need screens of my fps or anything just say

sorry but I would like to add , that I have the newest drivers , and just format pc , so that origin software wouldn´t be here fucking my quake settings or so =) but still the same...

What's it like with default cfg?

Also, are you running any (anti-virus) software in the background? Comodo used to give me horrid fps/lag issues.

this is all happening on default cfg.

Thought I´ve tried with stermy´s or winz config and I have fps drops also, just a bit smaller :S

but even though default or not cfg , the fps should be ok... its strange :S new laptop , good specs and this happens? i dont understand.

I can play other games without any problem :(

Check what programs are running in the background and remove them..

Play in window mode with task manager running and see what program has a jump in CPU usage when you get the FPS drops.

I´m using QL Prism , and I am with max performance :) im not with battery. just charged directly to electricity!

I would need a screenshot from your task manager with all processes visible and your cfg-dump (/writeconfig whatever.cfg).

im using default cfg. about the ql process running sccreen i will show u soon =) a friend of mine is testing the game on his laptop to see if he has problem too :(

but i can assure u that nothing happens in task manager.. :S

I had no main PC for a few weeks so I was forced to play on my htpc (dual-atom+nvidia ion) for a while. Games like cod2, hl2 and many other games released after q3 were running just fine with 120+ fps, but no matter what I did I was not able to run QL without fps-drops while q3 is rock steady 125fps all the time:(

maybe your notebook have 2 video cards? integrated and 540gt? Maybe QL using different card to run and other games choose 540gt?

(sorry if I reply slow sometimes, but I struggling with my minecraft server since the 1.8 update last weekend, it's a lot of work to transfer everything into the new bioms:(( )

It's optimus, it's really a good thing if it works, but you should be able to force it in the nvidia control panel for sure. Since I never had such laptop I'm not sure if you can do it on the application level (like forcing it for QLprism only) but it's logical you can do something like that.

if you don't have a profile in nvidia CP for QLprism, just make a new and see if there is a setting to choose the prefered graphics chip.
